Responsibilities

  • Assist in the development of internal and external communications content for multiple channels supporting corporate and commercial product communications as well as select Community Engagement initiatives.

  • Create communications materials for internal/external channels which include, but not limited to, written materials (key messages; speaking points; Power Point presentations, press releases, social media content etc.) and graphics (newsletters, posters, TV screens, infographics). 

  • Collaborate with team members to develop Communications team meeting agendas and support daily operations by performing general support and administrative tasks. 

  • Monitor social media channels for industry trends, news, and activities to support content strategy and identify opportunities for engagement. Develop and execute internal and external social media plans and content to reach key audiences.

  • Collaborate with the team and other partners to support content development and to ensure cohesive messaging.

  • Prepare and coordinate posting of material to GSK in Canada’s external website (ca.gsk.com) as required.

  • Support internal communications campaigns to keep employees apprised of corporate initiatives/priorities, branding initiatives, etc.

  • Monitoring of GSK’s National media lines (English and French), including screening, tracking and responding to media inquiries where appropriate. 

  • Distribute daily media clippings to monitor industry trends and highlight any potential issues. 

  • Support special projects & events with co-ordination, project management and content creation. Manage logistics for internal campaigns and events, such as room bookings, distribution lists, calendar invites etc.  

  • Liaise with Linguistics to request translation projects and to plan projects of larger scope to ensure appropriate resource allocation and time management.

  • Provide support (1 day/week) and occasional backup in Linguistics by handling translation requests from various internal business partners. Oversee the back-end operations of translation software, liaise with external vendors, and assist with awareness initiatives to ensure seamless communication and effective translation services.

Basic Qualifications

  • A recent graduate with a certificate or bachelor’s degree in communications, Journalism, Public Relations, or a related field, eager to apply your academic knowledge in a professional setting.

  • A proactive team player with a passion for continuous learning, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability in the face of change and ambiguity. 

  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365 suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams) and familiarity with SharePoint and OneDrive for document management and collaboration.

  • You excel at multitasking and are committed to providing exceptional internal customer service.

  • A strong communicator who easily builds relationships with colleagues and stakeholders and fosters a collaborative environment to achieve common goals.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Hands-on experience in crafting and executing dynamic marketing campaigns and creating compelling social media content that engages and informs.

  • Strong knowledge of social media platforms, especially LinkedIn and X (formerly Twitter), and a genuine passion for developing effective content strategies to boost engagement.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and projects of significant scope, especially in fast-paced environments.

  • Previous work experience in communications, public relations, or media is highly desirable.

  • Possess a keen interest in the healthcare industry.

  • Fluency in French (both written and spoken) is an asset.

  • This position is a 12-month contact (full-time) and is expected to begin in May 2025

  • This is a hybrid role, requiring attendance at our Mississauga office minimum 2-3 days/week
