About This Role:
As a Communications and Events Manager, you will play a pivotal role within the Communications team at Biogen Canada. Your primary responsibility will be to plan and execute both internal and external communications, along with affiliate programs, driving engagement with employees and external stakeholders. You will develop and implement strategies to manage Biogen’s brand, reputation, and public image through various traditional and digital channels. This role involves content creation, media relations, and social media management. You will also be planning and overseeing both in-person and virtual initiatives, programs, and events that communicate Biogen's value proposition and bring the company's brand promise to life. By collaborating with the Head of Communications, you will ensure that all communications align with Biogen's strategic goals and enhance its brand image.

What You’ll Do:
- Plan and execute communications for corporate and brand-related events, programs, and projects.
- Coordinate planning and execution of employee events such as town halls.
- Provide support for internal and external presentations and speaking engagements.
- Develop editorial content for various communications channels including intranet, newsletters, and press releases.
- Oversee the creation of marketing and communication materials, ensuring brand consistency.
- Participate in brand planning sessions and cross-functional meetings.
- Ensure the production of engaging content across platforms, collaborating with agency partners as needed.
- Manage internal communication initiatives to foster employee morale.
- Develop and maintain a database of media inquiries and key spokespeople.
- Monitor and report on the effectiveness of communications and events.
- Prepare measurement reports to assess the success of PR campaigns.
- Manage event platforms and track engagement for data-driven insights.

Required Skills:
- Post-secondary degree preferably in Communications, Public Relations, or related field.
- 5+ years of progressive experience in Communications, with a minimum of 2 years’ experience in the pharmaceutical industry or a public relations agency supporting pharmaceutical clients.
- Strong ability to be agile and adapt to changing needs of the business.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills with fluency in English.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment.
- Demonstrated problem-solving capability and ability to navigate ambiguity.
- Strong project management skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills, with the ability to multitask effectively.
- Ability to work across multiple digital platforms and adopt new systems/applications quickly.
Preferred Skills:
- Formalized project management training or certification.
- Experience in a bilingual (English/French) communications environment.
The expected salary range for this position is $79,000 to $ 103,000 and includes eligibility for a discretionary bonus. Base salary offered is determined through an analytical approach utilizing a combination of factors including, but not limited to, relevant skills & experience, job location, and internal equity.
