Job Description:

The Communications and Change Management Consultant will be an integral member of a team driving engagement, culture and consistency of messaging across our global Chief Technology Office (CTO) organization. This position requires a creative, idea generator and detail-oriented professional who is committed to continuously learning about the impact of communications in an internal corporate environment and evolving their approach based on insights and outcomes. Understanding of infrastructure technologies is considered an asset.

What will you do?

  • Develop compelling internal branding communication materials that promote CTO initiatives and drive meaningful engagement.
    • Translate technical concepts into clear, plain language and engaging communications that emphasize outcomes and data relevant to diverse global internal audiences.
  • Plan and organize events that support CTO leadership and enhance team connectivity, culture and engagement
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement communication strategies aligned with organizational goals
  • Design and execute change management initiatives that drive adoption and minimize resistance
  • Monitor, report on and assess the impact of communications on employee understanding, sentiment, and behavior
  • Continuously research best practices and measure the effectiveness of communication approaches

What You Need to Succeed?

  • Communication Excellence: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with ability to adapt for different audiences. Superior reading comprehension and ability to quickly grasp complex technical and business concepts. Demonstrated expertise in consolidating information from various sources into clear and persuasive communications. Proven experience in scriptwriting and public speaking is regarded as an asset.
  • Strategic Thinking & Efficiency: Strong analytical mindset connecting communication tactics to measurable outcomes. Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities and meet numerous deadlines without sacrificing quality.
  • Professional Attributes: Initiative-driven professional who takes creative ownership and works independently. Openness to feedback with demonstrated ability to incorporate input and continuously improve. Self-starter who proactively brings forward ideas and innovative solutions. Genuine aptitude and willingness to learn about what makes communication effective. Appreciation for the importance of discretion and confidentiality in communications.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in Microsoft software, particularly PowerPoint, Word, and Excel. Experience using planning tools such as Planview Agile Place. Comfortable learning new tools and platforms to enhance communication effectiveness. Experience using Gen AI technology and experience using tools such as Microsoft Copilot.
  • Education & Experience: Degree or diploma in Communications, Marketing, Business, Journalism, or related discipline. Experience in corporate communications, change management, or related field preferred. Background supporting infrastructure technology or transformation initiatives highly valued.

The Base Pay range is for the primary location for which the job is posted. It may vary depending on the work location of the successful candidate or other factors. In addition to Base Pay, eligible Sun Life employees participate in various incentive plans, payment under which is discretionary and subject to individual and company performance. Certain sales focused roles have sales incentive plans based on individual or group sales results.
