As the Commercial Specialist you will be responsible for new client growth and expansion of the commercial portfolio through outbound prospecting, client contact and sales activities.  You will play a key role in identifying prospects in business markets, servicing clients, determining risks and presenting customized insurance solutions.  


How you will create impact:
  • Conducting inbound and outbound calls to prospect and proactively build a sales pipeline, developing marketing plans to promote insurance offerings, and contributing to the achievement of sales, profitability, and growth goals.
  • Completing risk assessments and commercial inspections in accordance with underwriting guidelines.
  • Working with clients to review goals, providing risk management advice and recommendations for coverage, completing policy updates, and documenting required changes.
  • Conducting policy reviews to identify changing coverage requirements, responding to client inquiries, resolving complaints, and escalating issues as required.  
  •  Participating in events to create brand awareness and developing, maintaining, and cultivating community contacts to enhance agency visibility and maximize new business opportunities.

  • You have strong communication skills to influence or persuade others to adopt a specific course of action and can effectively facilitate mutually beneficial solutions. 

To join our team:
  • You have 2-3 years of experience in commercial insurance sales and business development.
  • You have a post-secondary education in a related discipline.
  • You hold a General insurance license.
  • You have or are working towards the Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP) or Fellow Chartered Insurance Professional (FCIP)

What you need to know:
  • You are required to have your own vehicle, valid driver’s license and insurance.
  • You will travel regularly.
  • This role involves direct contact with clients and/or service providers in their environment.
  • Extended work hours, including evenings and weekends, will be required.
  • You will be subject to a Criminal Record and Consumer History background check as a condition of employment, in the event you are the successful candidate.

Expected salary/hourly range $54,517.00 - $90,861.00. This role is eligible to participate in a sales incentive plan for additional compensation with an annual target of 7-10%
