Step Into Strategic Impact – Vice President, Complex Risk Unit
Join a high-performance team reshaping the commercial insurance landscape. As Vice President within HUB’s Complex Risk Unit (CRU), you’ll be a strategic driver of growth across our Property & Casualty (P&C) division, working with key stakeholders to unlock opportunities in complex commercial risks.
In this pivotal role, you’ll bring market insight, risk expertise, and business acumen to deepen client relationships, expand our reach, and strengthen carrier partnerships across Canada. You’ll operate with autonomy and authority, directly contributing to revenue generation, retention, and the refinement of our CRU value proposition, locally and nationally.
What You’ll Do
Drive new business and organic growth by identifying opportunities within complex commercial P&C segments
Act as a senior advisor on risk strategy, structuring placements and guiding renewal approaches for high-value clients
Partner with producers and internal teams to develop and execute cross-sell strategies and key account plans
Strengthen carrier relationships to enhance placement outcomes, terms, and market access
Collaborate on strategic sales and service plans to support regional and national CRU objectives
Provide insight on market trends and emerging risks to inform strategy and client solutions
Support talent development by mentoring peers and contributing to recruitment efforts within the CRU
What You’ll Need for Success
Valid RIBO license (required); CIP, CAIB, or equivalent designation considered a strong asset
Minimum 8 years of experience in commercial insurance brokerage, with a focus on mid-market and national accounts
Deep technical knowledge of commercial lines: property, casualty, umbrella, and professional liability—especially for complex and multinational programs
Strong business development skills with a proven track record of revenue generation and client retention in a brokerage environment
Skilled in relationship management, market strategy, and solution selling at the executive level
Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders and lead client strategy discussions
Analytical, strategic, and commercially minded; able to balance growth, client needs, and market realities
Engaged in the insurance community through associations, events, or professional networks
