The Allen Thomas Group is seeking an experienced, energetic, and client-focused Commercial Lines Account Manager to join our growing team. In this role, you will be the primary service contact for a book of commercial accounts, managing renewals, responding to client needs with same-day urgency, and actively supporting new business production.

Sales Goals & Compensation
This role includes a new business production component. Account managers who actively contribute to agency growth are rewarded directly for what they write.
Monthly New Revenue Target: $3,000
New business commission revenue per month
Your Monthly Earning Potential: $600+
You earn 20% of all new business you write
New business commission is paid on top of your base salary — no cap, no threshold. Every dollar you write above target puts more in your pocket.

Key Responsibilities
New Business Development
Quote and respond to new commercial business opportunities same day
Process and evaluate inbound leads from agency marketing and producer pipelines
Focus production efforts on target industries: Manufacturing, Construction, Technology, and Food Services
Craft quality submissions and communicate effectively with carrier underwriters to secure optimal coverage and pricing
Identify cross-sell and upsell opportunities within the existing client base
Account Management & Client Service
Serve as the primary service contact for assigned commercial accounts with revenue over $2,500
Provide same-day response to all client inquiries — this is a non-negotiable standard
Conduct thorough annual renewal reviews to assess coverage adequacy, identify exposure changes, and retain accounts
Proactively communicate with clients throughout the year — not just at renewal
Apply a consultative approach to understand each client’s business, risks, and coverage priorities
Handle endorsements, certificates, audits, cancellations, and other policy service needs efficiently
Technical Insurance Expertise
Manage multi-state commercial insurance programs across a range of industries and coverage lines
Demonstrate deep knowledge of workers’ compensation, general liability, commercial property, commercial auto, umbrella, and professional lines
Provide risk management consultation that goes beyond coverage placement and adds real value to clients
Analyze coverage options, identify gaps, and clearly communicate recommendations to clients
Stay current on market conditions, carrier appetites, underwriting trends, and industry developments
Carrier & Underwriter Relationships
Build and maintain strong working relationships with underwriters at key commercial carriers
Leverage preferred partner status to negotiate favorable terms, pricing, and exceptions for clients
Craft submissions that present accounts accurately and favorably to underwriters
Stay informed on carrier appetite changes, new product offerings, and underwriting guidelines
Required Qualifications
Active Property & Casualty license required
Minimum 2–5 years of commercial lines insurance experience with direct client responsibility
Strong knowledge of commercial insurance products: GL, BOP, commercial auto, workers’ comp, umbrella, professional lines, and specialty coverages
Experience managing multi-state accounts and navigating multi-state workers’ compensation requirements
Proficiency with Applied Epic agency management system preferred; experience with other AMS platforms (HawkSoft, AMS360) considered
Experience with carrier portals, ACORD forms, and supplemental applications
College education is preferred
Professional designations (CIC, CPCU, CISR) strongly preferred

Monthly new business revenue written (target: $3,000/month in commission revenue)

Client satisfaction and feedback
