What you’ll be doing

Credit Risk Management works with its partners to understand, measure, and monitor risk and adhere to CIBC's quality and concentration policies in order to maintain a risk profile that is consistent with the CIBC Risk Appetite Statement. As a Manager, Commercial Credit Risk, reporting directly to the Senior Director, Commercial Credit Risk, you will be responsible for reviewing credit applications both within and above your delegated lending authority, managing a portfolio of diversified regional commercial loans, and partnering with Commercial Banking officers through regular dialogue, consultation, and periodic visits.

How you’ll succeed

  • Credit adjudication – Adjudicate credit applications for Commercial Banking clients within a designated portfolio and lending authority.

  • Portfolio management – Proactively manage a credit portfolio of diversified Commercial. Banking clients through sound financial and non-financial analysis as well as an understanding of emerging trends within the regional economic, industry and business environments.

  • Relationship building – Make an impact by developing strong relationships with internal partners, external intermediaries and industry associations.

  • Team building – Provide mentoring, advice, and guidance on credit risk matters to internal partners.

Who you are

  • You can demonstrate experience. Minimum 2 years' experience in Commercial/Business banking, banking credit, credit adjudication, etc. Experience reviewing and understanding financial statements. Proficient with MS Office, Excel, and PowerPoint.

  • You have a degree. Undergraduate degree in Business, Commerce, and/or related field. It’s an asset if you have other designations including an MBA, CPA or CFA.
