Job Scope

Join our Hardware Design Team as a co-op to accelerate a C-based encoder model. You will use AVX, SSE, and SIMD techniques to significantly boost performance and analysis throughput - driving faster and higher quality results for hardware development.

Responsibilities

• Profile, refactor, and optimize C encoder code using AVX/ SSE/ SIMD
• Build and maintain a self-verification SW environment for result checking 
• Clearly document code changes, optimization strategies, and test outcomes
• Collaborate onsite with hardware and software teams to meet performance goals
• Communicate technical findings clearly and regularly
  

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
• Strong C programming and debugging skills
• Experience or coursework with SIMD instructions (AVX/ SSE)
• Detail-oriented, analytical, and thorough in documentation
• Proactive communicator and effective team contributor
• Must work onsite; full work term commitment required

Preferred skills

• Familiarity with performance profiling tools
• Knowledge of scripting (e.g., Python, Bash)
• Exposure to version control system (e.g., Git)
