About the team:

The Web, Windowing, and Graphics Team, currently a part of the Toronto Research Centre, explores innovative architectures to enhance the rendering of ArkUI and web content. The research includes customizing GPU drivers for web rendering, streamlining the Chrome rendering architecture for TBDR GPU targets, developing a concurrent web layout, and leveraging vertical integration opportunities to optimize performance and user experience.

About the job:

  • Identify the key technologies required for a problem in the field of web and AI

  • Research and implement the corresponding PoC

  • Participate in the preparation and writing of the resulting technical paper

The total target annual compensation (based on 2,080 hours per year) ranges from $58,000 to $104,000 depending on education, experience, and demonstrated expertise.

About the ideal candidate:

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field, with eligibility to participate in a co-op work term

  • Strong interest in AI-driven web content generation and web page analysis

  • Proficient in pyTorch, CUDA, HLSL, and/or equivalent

  • Knowledge of fine tuning AI models and training data processing

  • Knowledge of applying AI in content generation

  • Experience in web technologies or AI is an asset

  • Knowledge of web profiling, CPU/GPU performance analysis, rendering pipeline, compute pipeline, and GPU architecture is an asset
