What You’ll Be Doing
As a member of CIBC’s Cloud Network Engineering team, you will play a key role in supporting the bank’s networking infrastructure. You will be utilizing your practical experience working with core network technologies, especially Cisco’s IOS-XE and NXOS operating systems. These are essential tools for managing data center switches and routers. Your skills in configuring and troubleshooting these systems will be vital for maintaining secure and reliable network connections. You will also need a deep understanding of how to connect different parts of the network using services like Express Route Direct and Azure's Direct Connect. This role requires expertise in edge routing protocols including BGP and OSPF, IS-IS as well as some experience with firewalls (Palo Alto and Fortigate) and load balancing technologies (F5, Azure LB, AVI). An understanding of Azure-specific network components is also important. You will work with Azure vHub and vWAN for managing virtual networks, along with Azure Route Server (ARS), Application Gateway (ALB), and Network Security Groups (NSG) including Dev Ops delivery via bicep pipelines. You will provide technical leadership, interpreting complex information and coordinating relationships to meet and manage service expectations, aligned to best practices.

How You’ll Succeed
Leadership: Provide technical leadership during the design, build, configuration, implementation and maintenance phases of major public and private Cloud technologies and automation tooling in a multi-platform environment and in the data centers.
Engineering: Design, develop and test and document emerging Cloud-based network designs. Implement and support both production and non-production Cloud platform network environments, including change management.
Collaboration: Partner senior leaders and other Lines of Business across the company and make informed recommendations to enhance Cloud related solutions. Work with the Enterprise Architecture team on identifying requirements and design for continuous evolution of Cloud-based solutions and data center integrations.
Who You Are
You can demonstrate 7+ years' experience in design, implementation and support of Cisco Routing and Switching, as well as Microsoft Azure and Amazon Web Services, multi-account Organizations, Azure DevOps Pipeline implementation of “infrastructure as code” deliveries. It is an asset if you have Bicep, JSON and PowerShell scripting, technical knowledge Palo Alto Networks Firewalls, AWS Security Groups, Network ACLs, Direct Connect, Azure Firewalls, ExpressRoute & IPSec Tunnels, Virtual WAN, WAF, Network Security Groups (NSG) and other network and security components of Azure and AWS / GCP. Experience with SD-WAN and overlay network technologies considered an asset.
