The Claims Manager, Subrogation is responsible for leading the subrogation claims adjusters nationally, overseeing all subrogation claims, including complex and high-value claims, and driving strategic initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and recovery outcomes. This role includes mentoring claims staff, setting performance standards, and collaborating with senior leadership to align departmental goals with corporate objectives.

You’re great at:

You have:

  • Post-secondary education and / or equivalent on the job experience.

  • Completion of the CIP/FCIP designation (an asset).

  • Provincial licensing must be met as required.

  • Post-secondary education and / or equivalent on the job experience.

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in claims adjusting and subrogation recovery.

  • Leadership experience (an asset).

  • Fluently bilingual (English / French) is a definite asset (a requirement in Quebec Region).

  • Ability to assess liability and understand case law developments in the jurisdiction.

  • Strong leadership, coaching, mentoring skills.

  • Excellent communication (both verbal and written) skills to explain processes and terms.

  • Demonstrated ability to build consensus and agreement amongst multiple viewpoints.

  • Patience, empathy and understanding in dealings with staff and customers.

  • Analytical, problem-solving skills, investigative, and decision-making skills.

  • Plan, organize, and manage multiple demands and changing priorities.

  • Work well as a team player or independent contributor; Self-motivated.
