This is a 12-16 month internship with a January, 2027 start date.

Responsibilities:

You can expect to:

  • Improve understanding of accuracy for CFD codes on DH-specific configurations and flight conditions.
  • Validate CFD codes against wind tunnel data for various configurations (wing-body-nacelle, wing-body-nacelle high-lift, etc.). Explore sensitivity of CL, CD and moments due to:
    • Grid spacing (refinement, adaptation)
    • Turbulence models (S-A, k-w and mods)
    • Higher fidelity methods (time-accurate, DES)
  • Determine best practices for different configurations.
  • Provide estimates for accuracy of different parameters (lift, drag, moments).
  • Create Python scripts for quicker post-processing.
  • Shadow senior engineers and support field investigations, root cause analyses, and corrective actions.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Current enrollment in a Bachelor's degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical, or related engineering field.
  • Completion of at least 2 years of study by the start of the internship.
  • A strong interest in aircraft systems, structures, and design.
  • Working knowledge of engineering tools such as CATIA, MATLAB, Excel/VBA, or other technical software (varies by role).
  • Clear communication skills and the ability to take initiative while working as part of a team.

What You'll Gain:

  • Exposure to the full aircraft lifecycle—from design to test to delivery.
  • Practical experience working on certification, production support, and fleet sustainment.
  • Mentorship from senior engineers and insight into career paths across multiple disciplines.
  • The chance to make real contributions to active engineering projects with national and international reach.
