Job Summary

Responsible for executing awarded categories (less than $20M in revenue) and managing timelines for execution. Partner with key merchants and Functional Leader to obtain and assess data for merchandising strategy. Act as the liaison with internal/external project affiliates; present key recommendations and collaborate project results to meet and/or exceed corporate objectives.

Major Tasks, Responsibilities, and Key Accountabilities

  • Manages key product categories in a portfolio of products less than $20M in revenue. Serves as business liaison to customers, management, and others affiliated with the project team.
  • Drives and executes category program development using the toll gate process and works cross functionally with Packaging Design, Supply Chain, Distribution, Product Forecast, In Store Service, Sourcing, and Finance/Pricing/Hurdle Rate.
  • Oversees category product mix development, innovation, planograms (POG), analytics (GMROI, Turns, Margins), Centralized Automatic Replenishment (CAR), Automatic Maintenance Tool (AMT), and visual merchandising.
  • Develops and executes merchandising strategy utilizing key components of business drivers.
  • Ensures systems are set up properly to support unique distribution and service ordering system.
  • Develops strategies to solve multi-faceted problems through understanding of fundamental issues throughout the organization at all levels.

Nature and Scope

  • Solutions require analysis and investigation.
  • Achieves planned results by decisions and actions based on professional methods, business principles, and practical experience.
  • Manages a group or team of professional individual contributors and/or indirectly supervises support staff.

Work Environment

  • Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.
  • Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.
  • Typically requires overnight travel 5% to 20% of the time.

Education and Experience

  • Typically requires BS/BA in a related discipline. Generally 7+ years of experience in a related field. May require certification. Advanced degree may offset less experience in some disciplines.
