Category Manager, Procurement – Software & Cloud Services
Job Summary
Responsible for recommending and implementing sourcing strategy for specific categories with collaboration from stakeholders to resolve issues as they arise.
Responsibilities

Establish Software category procurement goals, metrics, and work plans to meet operational objectives

Develop Software category management strategies and action plans globally

Manage regional/program/project RFx and support category initiatives as needed

Lead contract development and implementation efforts, while partnering with Legal on the contract lifecycle. Lead vendor negotiations including business terms and Service Level Agreements (SLAs)

Drive process and system improvements to enhance procurement efficiency, governance cost, and compliance - experience with the use of enabling systems to track progress, identify gaps, and develop plans to address

Build and maintain supplier relationships and drive improvement in the areas of cost, risk, and quality. Educate suppliers on the mechanics of doing business with Equinix.

Identify and resolve various supplier management problems

Report and present quarterly business reviews to internal and external stakeholders, ensuring SLA’s, key metrics and program compliance is adhered

Proactively identify, implement and project manage cost reduction, risk and service quality improvement. Track cost savings opportunities within category, capitalizing on efficiencies and growth within managed program

Understand suppliers’ key cost drivers, interpret basic financial and balance sheet reporting, and provide recommendations

Support additional technology service opportunities as needed including professional services associated with software implementations, where relevant

Supports Global Category Lead as needed
Qualifications
-
Demonstrated experience in global Software procurement, including Cloud services
-
7+ years leading Software procurement with a focus on category management or sourcing/procurement preferred
-
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required

Post graduate qualification in General Management, Procurement and /or Supply Chain Management, Process Automation and /or position in industry association with thought leadership preferred

Strong Financial and Technical Acumen

Strong organizational skills. Facilitate meetings effectively ensuring that communication styles are appropriate given the differing needs of culturally diverse, global teams

Customer focused, able to collaborate and influence others to drive actions to meet business needs while maintaining a positive, professional outlook

Ability to work and interact with departments throughout the organization, with minimal supervision

Demonstrate integrity and reliability.

Ability to deal effectively with pressure, multiple tasks, deadlines, and rapidly changing priorities

Strong verbal and written communication skills with requisite interpersonal skills to partner, collaborate and build relationships with business partners, suppliers, and regional teams

Proficient in use of Microsoft/ Office (Project, Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).

Ability and willingness to travel occasionally
