Your role at Clorox:

The Senior Sales Analyst is a pivotal role supporting Clorox's sales goals by providing critical insights and solutions. The ideal candidate will leverage their analytical skills and strategic understanding to drive market growth and collaborate with various teams. This position offers dynamic learning opportunities and requires strong leadership and relationship-building abilities.

The Senior sales analyst is a key enabling position for our Clorox Sales ambition to be Leaders in Value Creation.

This position reports into the customer team leads for Regional Teams and is the “go-to person” who provides critical support for all elements of this business. These businesses are very dynamic and exciting, and the successful candidate will be exposed to incredible learning opportunities and development.

The ideal candidate brings strong analytical abilities to provide the Regional Accounts customer team relevant insights to develop market sales reviews and growth opportunities.  They understand customer strategies and Clorox strategies and can provide solutions that incorporate both.   As a strong team player, this candidate will support all team members to effectively understand and manage team priorities, identify new opportunities and go-to-market strategies through customized reports while leveraging macro-economic, consumer, and retail insights. Regularly collaborate with Sales stakeholders, Clorox Business Teams/Studios and Customer Category Management Teams to develop and execute business plans and strategies to grow Clorox categories and our brands within the accounts.

The successful applicant will be someone with passion for a challenge with a track record of strong analytical and strategic selling results.  In addition, the successful applicant will have proven leadership capabilities and strong relationship building attributes.  This person will have a history of identifying opportunities, achieving stretch plans, creating solid win-win solutions, and posses a natural ability to be self-motivated and self-directed in achieving the goals and aspirations of the customer, and the Clorox brand portfolio assigned.

What we look for:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create and manage reporting to track key business metrics including but not limited to: weekly POS and business reporting vs targets, tracking daily/weekly shipments, Nielsen/customer POS category/item performance, share tracking, retail price audits, ecommerce performance, promotion plan performance, distribution and new item tracking.
  • Actively pursue “real time” Clorox and competitive insights at retail to identify AAA (Assortment, Availability, and Activation) strategies, as well as assist their Customer Manager team in identifying business opportunities for assortment, merchandising, pricing, and shelving. 
  • Complete customer & category reviews and category/business deep dives as required.
  • Complete post promotional analyses and recommendations to team, track and evaluate special events including Omni/Digital.
  • Summarize ongoing performance of the account team's key business initiatives, communicating results back to the team. Scorecard performance to date, and recommended actions to fix or improve.
  • Assist in the development of insights based “storytelling” type presentations both internally and externally.
  • Able to provide high level impactful summaries that are critical to the business, being able to take data and create a presentation that is easy to understand, dissect, and implement.
  • Support account team with adhoc business needs and analytics as required
  • Presenting the analysis to key stakeholders.
  • Monitor the baseline/promotional volume in Exceedra to ensure accuracy and integrity

Years and Type of Experience:

  • Minimum 2 -3 years in a Sales Analyst capacity in the CPG industry related to selling relationships with National and/or Regional Accounts
  • Broad experience in category, brand, customer and shopper insight within North American markets, CPG (Consumer Packaged Goods) industry. Experience working with sales including channel development and merchandising preferred
  • Solid retailer/industry knowledge

Skills and Abilities:

  • Candidate must have excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office, with proven advanced proficiency in Excel and advanced PowerPoint skills. 
  • Microsoft Power BI / Python coding experience is a strong asset.
  • Proficiency and experience working with Nielsen and/or other Retail/Market data systems and its integration into usable team insights.
  • Knowledge of Customer Reporting/Data system would be an asset. (IRI Unify/Circana, Dunnhumby, Federated Co-op Toolbox.)
  • Highly developed analytical skills and presentation skills with the ability to make independent decisions and recommendations that align with the needs of the business.
  • Excellent communication, time management, and organizational skills with the ability to multi-task and balance priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must have comfort and ability to present to key internal stakeholders and external customers
  • Demonstrated ability to be a strong team player and is willing to help when needed.
  • Fluency in both English and French languages is preferred. (oral & written)
