What you'll be doing 

Join the Capital Markets COO team as an Analyst and support the day-to-day process of loading data into the client reporting tool. In this role, you’ll work with large datasets and help ensure the information is accurate, consistent, and organized properly across reporting periods. You’ll assist with maintaining client and business hierarchies, support updates to prior-period data when needed, and work with team members and stakeholders to help maintain data quality. 

You’ll also have the opportunity to suggest improvements to existing processes and explore new data sources that can enhance reporting. You’ll collaborate with other team members to fulfil the ad-hoc reporting requests and build the new financial models using the internal AI tool. This is a great role for someone who enjoys problem-solving, working with data, and learning how reporting supports business decisions.

The expected annualized base salary for this role is $52,890 

 
The base salary is determined by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s skills, experience, and job-related knowledge, as well as geographic location and specific business needs. Our compensation philosophy supports ongoing growth and development, enabling progression within the salary range as team members advance in their roles.

Important information 

 

  • You are enrolled in an undergraduate degree in Commerce, Economics, STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) or related program at the time of the internship, with a graduation date no sooner than August 2027.

  • Location: Toronto (Please note all employees must work within their current jurisdiction and must reside within Canada. All CIBC Co-op positions require you to be based in Canada for the duration of the term) 

  • Duration of Work Term: 4 months (January 2027 – April 2027)

How you'll succeed 

Data support – Help manage and process large datasets, ensuring information is accurate, consistent, and aligned across reporting periods. 

Process improvement – Contribute ideas to improve current processes and identify opportunities for greater efficiency or automation. 

Reporting enhancement – Assist in researching and incorporating new data sources to improve client reporting. 

Team collaboration – Work with colleagues and stakeholders to understand data needs and help resolve issues. 

Technical development – Use tools such as Excel, Power Query, Power BI, and other technologies to support reporting and analysis.

You have a proven record of academic success, teamwork, and extracurricular involvement. 

 

  • You’re technically savvy. You have some exposure to tools such as Excel, Power Query, Power BI, Alteryx, VBA, or Generative AI, and you’re eager to keep building your skills.
