About the Role
Your Responsibilities

  • 3D CAD Systems Operator - CATIA V5, AutoCAD
  • Produce and/or Modify both 2D and 3D CAD files and drawings as required - (Drawing types include Assembly Cell Drawings, Floor Layout drawings, Tooling CAD files, Fixture drawings and other CAD work to support Promatek projects and operations)
  • Control and maintain CAD files in an organized manner in the project directory system as per standards (naming conventions, revision level control, storage directory locations, etc)
  • Maintain proper CAD standards for drawings and files (layering, colours, templates, etc)
  • Create detailed summary reports based on CAD files
  • Create detailed Bill of Materials and Bill of Process information based on CAD file information
  • Knowledge of stamping formability simulations using one or more of the following software: Autoform, PamStamp, LS Dyna
  • Occasional shop/project support

  • Travel may be required occasionally. Note: some of the travel may be outside North America. Must have valid passport and driver's license.

  • Ensure all safety and non-safety plant rules and regulations are followed.
  • Ensure adherence to established quality and housekeeping standards.
  • Review and adhere to Promatek's health & safety, environmental, operating procedures, and policies.
  • Understand and uphold the principles of Bill 168 which prohibits domestic violence, workplace violence, and workplace harassment.
  • In addition to the above, the duties include those specified under the Occupational Health & Safety Act, Sec. 28.


Who we are looking for
Your preferred qualifications

  • Completion of a specialized CAD program course from a community or recognized College or University consisting of more than two years in CAD and Solid Modeling programs.
  • CATIA V5 and AutoCAD are the 2 main CAD programs required for this position
  • Experience with both surface based and solid based modeling
  • Proficiency with MS Office
  • Valid Passport and Automobile Driving License
  • Experience in Automotive Tool and Die components and Manufacturing Processes in the core technologies of:
    • Sheet metal stampings
    • Hydroforming
    • Aluminum High Pressure Die Casting
    • Assembly processes
  • Understanding of GD&T, locating and part fixturing concepts
  • Working knowledge of Engineering Drawing release systems
