What you'll be doing

As a member of CIBC’s Application Engineering & Shared Platforms (AESP) Business Systems Analysis team, the Business Systems Analyst supports the interpretation of business and technical requirements by participating in client review sessions and assisting in the assessment of technology solutions to meet business objectives. In this role, you will contribute to documenting and facilitating activities that enable the effective application of new technologies to improve existing processes and address client needs. You will work collaboratively with team members to resolve a variety of business and technical challenges, applying analytical thinking to develop practical solutions and support organizational goals.

To successfully perform the work, you’ll be on-site full-time. You’ll have the flexibility to manage your work activities within a hybrid work arrangement where you’ll spend 1-3 days per week on-site, while other days will be remote.

How you'll succeed

  • Requirements Delivery- Work closely with business partners to gather and understand complicated business requirements, solution requirements and facilitate requirements discussions to ensure you meet project needs. Create strong relationships, lead discussions, listen and ask the right questions to ensure solutions meet requirements.

  • Strategic Planning- Ensure that requirements for systems and solutions are aligned with the business goals of the organization, Responsibility for the standardization of artifacts or deliverables delivered through the solution development lifecycle process. Ensure adherence to CIBC requirements standards, work practices, processes, security standards and policies.

  • Stakeholder Engagement- Interface with internal and external stakeholders, including Business and Technology LOBs, Enterprise Architecture, Operational teams and vendors to ensure clear communication and alignment on project objectives and deliverables. Develop and sustain relationships across the organization in and outside of technology, including negotiation and influence independent of authority.

Who you are

  • You can demonstrate 1-2 years experience in. Business Systems Analysis role, supporting projects and large programs. Ability to elicit requirements and write strong documentation. Excellent abilities to manage stakeholders and having strong communication skills is a must. You have strong abilities around analyzing and understanding data, as well as gap analysis expertise. You have strong problem solving skills, stakeholder management abilities, and exceptional organizational skills. It’s an asset if you have at least 2 years of Confluence/Jira experience writing user stories, and have experience with Agile delivery, methodologies and practices.
