Cayenta is seeking a versatile individual to fulfill a unique hybrid role as a Business Systems Analyst. This position combines traditional business analysis responsibilities—including requirements gathering, user story creation, and documentation—with hands-on, low-code/no-code development using proprietary development and configuration tools. The ideal candidate excels at translating business needs into clear requirements and implementing those directly through intuitive, application-specific configuration tools.

You will report to the Senior Product Solutions Manager, with a preference for candidates based in Canada.

WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR

  • Engage closely with business stakeholders to gather, document, and translate detailed requirements into actionable user stories and acceptance criteria for our CIS and ERP software solutions.

  • Leverage proprietary low-code/no-code configuration tools to design, build, and enhance system functionalities directly aligned with business needs.

  • Analyze and evaluate existing system configurations to identify areas for improvement and optimization, implementing enhancements using visual and declarative configuration methods.

  • Collaborate actively with product owners/managers, application consultants, developers, and end-users to ensure alignment of system configurations with strategic business objectives.

  • Actively troubleshoot and resolve configuration-related issues, ensuring optimal system performance and user experience.

  • Provide guidance and support to application consultants, assisting them in understanding new configurations and ensuring effective implementation in customer environments.

WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR

  • 3+ years of proven experience with CIS or ERP applications for utilities.

  • Demonstrated expertise in eliciting, documenting, and translating business requirements into clear, concise user stories and acceptance criteria.

  • Hands-on experience or strong aptitude in low-code/no-code platforms or proprietary visual configuration tools used for application development and customization.

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to dissect complex configurations, reverse-engineer existing solutions, and apply learnings to new configurations.

  • Excellent problem-solving capabilities, logical reasoning skills, and attention to detail.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.

WHAT WILL MAKE YOU STAND OUT

  • Experience specifically in CIS/ERP software systems within the utilities sector.

  • A track record of successful delivery using low-code/no-code platforms or visual configuration tools.

  • Proven ability in training end-users or supporting consultants in deploying and using configured solutions.

  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies and tools, such as Jira or Azure DevOps, for managing requirements, user stories, and configurations.

  • Demonstrated understanding of best practices in user experience design, emphasizing simplicity and functionality.

  • Experience contributing to process improvements, efficiency enhancements, or innovation in past roles.

WHAT WE OFFER

  • 3 weeks vacation and 5 personal days

  • Comprehensive Medical, Dental and Vision coverage from your first day of employment

  • Employee stock ownership and RRSP/401k matching programs

  • Lifestyle rewards

  • Flexible work options (and some pretty cool offices!)

  • And more!
