Job Description

The Business Systems Analyst will be reporting directly into the Director, Treasury Systems. The Business Systems Analyst will have the opportunity to work directly with the Finance departments across Brookfield’s business groups while being supported by financial business analysts and technical resources within the team as well as other teams within Technology Services.
 

The candidate will support, enhance and automate Treasury processes by helping the Finance teams leverage information systems and/or by proposing process changes.

Business processes in scope

  • Bank connectivity including electronic bank statement and payment processing via SWIFT network and ISO 20022 standards

  • Cash management including daily positioning, bank reconciliation and forecasting

  • Loan management including intercompany and credit facilities

  • Accounting for debt and derivatives

  • Derivative lifecycle

  • Financial risk management
     

We are looking for someone who can propose solutions and help deliver them to the end users.
 

Responsibilities cover the full lifecycle to provide Treasury systems solutions including requirements gathering, report building, software design and configuration, recommending system controls, master data management, system automation and operational support.
 

The team’s approach is to automate support tasks as much as possible and focus their efforts on value adding activities. The candidate will be encouraged to challenge the status quo and improve business processes as well as the team’s internal processes.
 

The team’s backlog consists of initiatives that are reviewed and prioritized weekly. Their complexity and effort required is varied.
 

Example of some deliverables

  • Support initiatives including process-re-engineering, process automation, systems implementation, integration projects with banks/3rd party vendors

  • Onboarding bank connectivity and other interfaces

  • Automate payment initiation and tracking for high volume

  • Onboard a new business group or new functionality

  • Automate interface from TMS to ERP

  • Automate FX confirmation using Vendor solution and interface

  • Payment modernization from SWIFT MT to ISO 20022
     

Qualifications & Requirements

  • 2-5+ years of experience in a related role supporting a Treasury Management System or ERP with preference given to FIS Quantum experience

  • Degree in Business, Commerce, Finance, Accounting, IT or related discipline

  • Ability to communicate with business and technical resources in their language

  • Proven experience in solving business problems including solutioning, implementation and production support

  • We are looking for a self-motivated individual who takes pride in the quality of their work
     

Skills (Nice to have)

  • Completed or working towards CTP/Certified Treasury Professional

  • Experience with Treasury application with preference on FIS Quantum

  • Knowledge of SWIFT network and/ or ISO 20022 standards

  • Crystal Reports using SQL queries

  • Experience working with Bloomberg

  • Scripting (e.g. Bat, VB and SQL queries)
