We are seeking a highly collaborative and customer service-oriented professional as a Business Account Specialist supporting the Canadian team for our Retail Groups division.   This role provides both external and internal support to the Director of Retail Brands (Canada) and the Regional Business Consultant (RBC) for Canada, focusing on member support, marketing, and operational tasks. Acting as an external/internal resource, you’ll deliver services and back-up to the Regional Business Consultant team while they are traveling as well as assisting and managing with key Marketing initiatives and tasks for Canada. Key responsibilities include executing and managing various Member Services functions, fostering strong member relationships, liaising with marketing department, coordinating multiple business and marketing projects, and supporting the Carpet One, Flooring Canada, Floor Trader and IDG Member Services department.
In addition to great benefits, a fabulous work environment and a super-collaborative, friendly team, this position allows you to work remotely from your home office in Canada with some travel expectations to our Canadian based members and to conferences or events.
Our Business Support Specialist will:

  • Service the RBC Canada team when they are visiting Members and out of the office to ensure that the level of customer service to their members is met, providing back up in the form of retail, marketing, financial and operation consultation to their members.
  • Coordinate, support and manage marketing initiatives in Canada by executing various marketing initiatives, programs and campaigns, including liaising with the marketing team in the U.S., working with marketing vendors, supporting members with marketing campaigns and creative, assisting with organizing of events and ensuring Canadian content is accurate in materials.
  • Create general correspondence for new programs and any program changes which includes e-mail communications, memos, letters, handouts, reports, spreadsheets, and presentations.
  • Act as a liaison and mediate between Members and other divisions/departments of CCA, mills, vendor partners, etc.
  • Communicate regularly with Members in order to keep them updated and engaged as well as report feedback and issues received.  Advise members of services and programs available for their use and explain how each will benefit their business.
  • Coordinate and assist with seminars, conference calls, webinars, annual member survey, and other divisional needs.


Do our requirements match YOUR background?

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing or communications or equivalent experience.
  • 3-5 years’ retail sales, customer service, or marketing along with administrative or coordinator experience.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, respond quickly, and absorb new information.
  • Strong personal computer skills (Microsoft Office, inclusive of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, CRM and Outlook).  Experience with design software such as Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, etc. is a definite asset as well as experience with social media platforms and website updates.
  • Excellent spelling, grammar, verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate with corporate staff, Members, and Vendor partners in a courteous, tactful and concise manner.
  • Ability to prepare communications from draft.
  • Must be able to interpret a variety of complex instructions and comprehend procedures.
  • Ability to perform information/data gathering assignments with little or no supervision.
