This role is key to driving operational efficiency and innovation within the Canadian Personal and Business Banking Business Risk group.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver data-driven insights to enable faster, smarter business risk operations decisions aligned with Ambition 2030, strengthening risk management and operational efficiency.
  • Identify automation opportunities and minimize reliance on manual Business Risk processes by implementing solutions that deliver significant time savings and improve efficiency.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business needs into technical specifications and deliver scalable analytics solutions.
  • Research and implement continuous improvements in data processing, visualization, and reporting techniques.
  • Optimize and document data flows, systems, and processes for repeatability and governance.
  • Complete complex and diverse tasks within established guidelines, analyze issues, and determine next steps.
  • Contribute to BMO’s Winning Culture by fostering collaboration and knowledge sharing across teams.
  • Work independently and regularly handles non-routine situations.
  • Broader work or accountabilities may be assigned as needed.

Technical Competencies:

  • Degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Information Technology, Industrial Engineering, or related fields
  • Strong foundation in programming, systems thinking, and technical design.
  • Hands-on development experience in data analysis, visualization, and automation.

Proficiency (4+years hands-on experience) in: 

  • SQL scripting
  • SAS programming
  • Data/Information optimization and decision-making
  • Insights design and reporting
  • Data storytelling and visualization

Working knowledge (1+years hands-on experience) in : 

  • Power Apps and automation workflows.
  • Power BI and M365 integration (SharePoint, Teams, Excel).
  • Phyton: OOP, data handling libraries
  • Web Development: HTML, CSS, JavaScript (preferred)

Salary:

$75,900.00 - $141,900.00

Salaries will vary based on factors such as location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications for the role, and may include a commission structure. Salaries for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on number of hours regularly worked. For commission roles, the salary listed above represents BMO Financial Group’s expected target for the first year in this position.

BMO Financial Group’s total compensation package will vary based on the pay type of the position and may include performance-based incentives, discretionary bonuses, as well as other perks and rewards.
