Job Description:

CLIENT

  • Leverage knowledge and understanding of business strategy and operations to develop meaningful analyses and materials that support the development and maturity of business objectives.
  • Prepare analyses, visualizations, and presentations to illustrate business trends and identify areas of opportunity.
  • Generate insights and recommend business actions to support business strategies or address business challenges.
  • Partner with various functional areas to provide day-to-day support and analytical solutions.
  • Respond to data requests accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Represent the functional area as a professional and key resource for analytics and insights.
  • Act as a liaison to translate business requirements into analytical and reporting needs, leveraging tools, techniques, and methodologies that can be easily understood by the target audience.
  • Provide ongoing support and deliver analytical insights and reporting materials.
  • Contribute to the identification and definition of key performance indicators (KPIs).

SHAREHOLDER

  • Provide recommendations, ideas, and opportunities to support business unit needs.
  • Identify business opportunities, revenue growth initiatives, or cost-saving opportunities for a business unit or department.
  • Investigate and resolve data and analytical issues.
  • Ensure data analyses and reports are reviewed for accuracy and to minimize the risk of errors.
  • Develop analyses to validate initial proof-of-concept findings.
  • Train business users, where appropriate, on how to integrate analytics into decision-making processes.
  • Provide recommendations regarding financial or monetization targets (e.g., functional quantity value, economies of scale, generated revenue, etc.).
  • Identify business requirements and facilitate project execution to generate insights.
  • Apply quantitative and qualitative methodologies to interpret and present data clearly and effectively.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of industry practices and procedures within the area of responsibility and stay informed about emerging trends in the functional area.
  • Protect the interests of the organization by identifying and managing risks, and escalating unusual or high-risk activities when necessary.
  • Conduct internal and external research projects; support the development and delivery of presentations and communications to management and broader audiences.
  • Adhere to internal policies, procedures, and applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Stay current on emerging trends, issues, and regulatory requirements, and assess their potential impacts.
  • Foster a risk management and control culture supported by effective processes aligned with the organization's risk appetite.
  • Lead workflows as a project lead or subject matter expert for small-scale projects and initiatives, as required, in accordance with project management methodologies.

  • Participate in performance management and development activities, including cross-training within the team.
  • Keep team members informed about project status, progress, and any relevant operational information.
  • Support the development of team capabilities through mentoring, knowledge sharing, experience sharing, and the adoption of best practices.
  • Build, maintain, and strengthen relationships with internal and external business partners and stakeholders to establish productive working relationships.
  • Promote a fair, positive, and inclusive work environment that supports a diverse workforce.
  • Serve as a brand ambassador for the business, function, and organization, both internally and externally.

SCOPE AND IMPACT

  • Work independently as a senior analyst or subject matter expert, and may coach or train others.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert within a specific area.
  • Oversee or independently execute assignments from start to finish.
  • Focus primarily on short- to medium-term issues and initiatives (e.g., monthly or quarterly).
  • Typically reports to a Senior Manager or Manager.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION

  • Undergraduate degree or advanced technical diploma preferred (e.g., Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, Finance, Computer Science). A graduate degree and experience working on innovative projects are considered assets; or
  • A minimum of three years of relevant experience; graduate-level education and research experience may also be considered.
