Job Description:

As part of TD Insurance, the Data, Analysis, and Insights (DAI) group supports internal business partners by providing valuable insights and analysis.

Within DAI, the GI Journey Insights team is a trusted ally to partner such as executives, actuarial corporate, pricing, product, finance, and others. The team combines talent from business intelligence analysts and data specialists to provide business-specific insights and consultative support to help the decision-making and strategic planning. Recognized for investigating emerging trends, the team provides detailed information and in-depth analysis to operational partners to support planning, forecasting and business opportunities.

You will leverage your analytical and programming skills to provide insights and analysis across a multitude of projects and initiatives. Main responsibilities

  • Analysis & Insights: Conduct portfolio and transaction analysis under the supervision of the manager to support GI Journey team.
    • Accelerate profitable growth by unlocking initiatives and providing opportunities.
    • Identify emerging trends and accelerate growth opportunities in alignment with business objectives.
    • Summarize and clearly communicate analytical findings to business unit leaders and other stakeholders.
    • Present data-driven insights to the manager to support informed decision-making and drive business growth.
    • Recommend strategies for operational improvements and customer acquisition based on analytical findings.
    • Analyze customer profiles to attract and retain high-value customers.
    • Translate data into actionable insights through hypothesis testing, data collection, analysis, and storytelling for business questions and challenges.
  • DataMart Development and Insight Generation
    • Extract, Transform and validate data using SQL, Python, R.
    • Develop and maintain dashboards using tools such as Excel, Tableau, and POSIT to provide data visualization and reporting.

Qualification

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in: Mathematics, Statistics, Business Intelligence, Finance, Economics, Information Technology, Actuarial Science, or a related field.
  • A minimum of two (2) years of relevant experience, including:
    • Expertise in analytics, data analysis, and statistical analysis
    • Experience in the general insurance industry
  • Bilingual in English and French.
  • Proficiency in programming languages (SQL, Python, R).
  • Strong analytical mindset with sound judgment and decision-making skills.
    • Exceptional problem-solving and analytical skills with a commitment to producing high-quality work.
    • Ability to conceptualize technical problems, providing clarity and a comprehensive perspective.
    • Creative in developing innovative solutions to complex problems.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
    • Quick learner with the ability to adapt to a dynamic work environment.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly and persuasively.
    • Collaborative and transparent in working with business partners.
    • Effective team player with a strong sense of team spirit.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel.
  • Alignment with TD’s core values.
