Company Description

Mycroft is an AI-native security and compliance platform tailored for modern companies. Our core product, the AI Security and Compliance Officer, is an autonomous agent designed to manage and operate your entire security and IT stack. Acting as a virtual Chief Information Security Officer (CISO), compliance expert, and IT operations team, it ensures your organization remains secure and compliant 24/7. Mycroft empowers businesses to focus on innovation while delivering a strong, modern security and compliance foundation.

About the Role

We're looking for a Business Development Representative to build the pipeline that fuels Mycroft's growth. This is a high-ownership, outbound-focused role. Your mission is simple: generate qualified conversations for the sales team. You'll sit at the intersection of Sales, Marketing, and Customer Success, learning how CISOs, founders, and compliance leaders think about risk and security, and turning that understanding into outbound that converts. Strong performers have a clear path to Account Executive.

What You'll Do

  • Own outbound across email, LinkedIn, and calls to generate qualified demos.

  • Research accounts and tailor messaging to security, compliance, and risk pain points.

  • Represent Mycroft alongside the sales team at conferences and events, helping drive awareness and generate qualified opportunities.

  • Book and qualify demos that meet ICP and qualification standards.

  • Maintain clean CRM data and accurate activity tracking.

  • Test and iterate on outbound sequences, value props, and call approaches. Share learnings with Sales Leadership and Marketing to improve conversion.

  • Partner with Account Executives to ensure smooth handoffs and strong deal context.

  • Work cross-functionally with Marketing on campaigns and targeting.

  • Help shape outbound playbooks, talk tracks, and qualification frameworks as we scale.

Who You Are

  • 0–2+ years of experience in sales, business development, or a customer-facing role.

  • B2B SaaS experience is a plus, but not required.

  • Competitive, resilient, and comfortable hearing "no". You own your number and your learning curve.

  • Clear, confident, and concise communicator, especially in writing; you can simplify complex topics into compelling conversations.

  • Curious and coachable: you want to understand how businesses buy, not just follow a script, and you actively seek feedback to improve.

  • Comfortable with ambiguity and fast change; you'd rather figure it out than wait for instructions.

Why Join Us

  • Real impact. Your work directly drives company growth.

  • Career path. Clear progression into AE or revenue leadership.

  • Learning curve. Learn cybersecurity, compliance, and enterprise sales fast.

  • Ownership. Early-stage role with real influence on how sales is built.

Location

Canada (Hybrid in Toronto | Remote for all other provinces)

Compensation

  • $45,000–$90,000 / year

  • There may be use of AI in screening candidates.
