About Anchorbase

Anchorbase is a venture-backed fintech and automation company building a modern merchant operations and payments platform for businesses across North America.

We help merchants simplify payments, improve reconciliation, reduce operational friction, and modernize how they interact with their financial systems. We combine payment processing, workflow automation, and AI-enabled operational tooling to help businesses eliminate manual work and operate more efficiently.

Anchorbase is an AI-centric company. We believe modern operators should use the best available tools to move faster, think more clearly, reduce repetitive work, and create better customer and team experiences. We expect every team member to be curious about AI-enabled tools and thoughtful about how they can improve daily work.

Unlike traditional payment processors, Anchorbase focuses heavily on operational excellence, implementation quality, support quality, and long-term merchant success. The way we sell, onboard, support, and grow merchant relationships should feel as thoughtful and professional as the platform itself.

Our team is made up of experienced operators, founders, and builders who move quickly, care deeply about execution, experiment often, and are focused on delivering exceptional outcomes for customers.

About the Role

We are looking for a Business Development Representative to help drive the next stage of Anchorbase’s growth.

This is a frontline sales role focused on identifying, engaging, and qualifying prospective merchants who could benefit from Anchorbase’s payments and automation platform. You will help create new conversations with businesses that are dealing with manual payment workflows, reconciliation pain, legacy systems, and operational inefficiency.

The ideal candidate is curious, coachable, disciplined, and comfortable with outbound activity. You should enjoy learning about businesses, asking thoughtful questions, and finding ways to open doors with potential customers.

This is a great role for someone who wants to build a career in sales, fintech, payments, or startups. You will work closely with experienced sales leaders, founders, and operators, and you will get exposure to how a fast-growing company builds its go-to-market engine from the ground up.

What You’ll Do
  • Research prospective merchants, verticals, and target accounts.

  • Identify decision-makers and key contacts within target businesses.

  • Conduct outbound outreach through email, phone, LinkedIn, and other channels.

  • Book qualified meetings for Account Executives and sales leaders.

  • Learn how to communicate Anchorbase’s value proposition clearly and professionally.

  • Ask thoughtful discovery questions to understand merchant pain points.

  • Maintain clean and accurate records in the CRM.

  • Follow up consistently and professionally with prospects.

  • Use AI-enabled tools to improve research, personalization, outreach quality, and productivity.

  • Collaborate with the sales team on messaging, targeting, campaigns, and feedback from the market.

  • Develop a strong understanding of payments, merchant operations, workflow automation, and the industries Anchorbase serves.

What We’re Looking For
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • High energy, persistence, and comfort with outbound sales activity.

  • Curiosity about how businesses operate and where manual work creates friction.

  • Strong attention to detail and follow-through.

  • A willingness to learn, take feedback, and improve quickly.

  • Comfort using modern sales tools, CRM systems, and AI-enabled productivity tools.

  • A professional, thoughtful, and customer-centric approach to outreach.

  • Ability to work in a fast-moving startup environment where priorities can evolve quickly.

  • Interest in fintech, payments, automation, AI, or business operations.

Previous sales, customer service, business development, or startup experience is helpful, but not required. We care more about drive, judgment, communication, and coachability.

What Success Looks Like

In this role, success means you are consistently creating high-quality conversations with the right merchants.

You are not just sending volume for the sake of volume. You are learning the market, improving your messaging, understanding customer pain points, and helping Anchorbase build a repeatable outbound motion.

You will be successful if you can:

  • Consistently book qualified meetings.

  • Build strong account and prospect research habits.

  • Communicate clearly and professionally with prospects.

  • Improve your outreach based on feedback and data.

  • Maintain strong CRM hygiene and follow-up discipline.

  • Represent Anchorbase in a way that is thoughtful, credible, and helpful.

  • Contribute ideas that make the sales process better over time.

Why Join Anchorbase

Anchorbase is early, growing, and building in a large market with a clear customer pain point. You will have the opportunity to join at an important stage, learn from experienced operators, and play a direct role in building the company’s sales engine.

This is a role where effort matters, learning matters, and great execution will be noticed. You will get meaningful exposure to sales strategy, customer conversations, payments, automation, and the operating systems behind a venture-backed startup.

For someone who wants to build a career in sales or go-to-market, this is a strong place to start.
