You’re a high‑performing B2B media seller who wants bigger opportunities, a faster trajectory, and a genuinely modern sales environment. At Key Media, you’ll drive new business for Canadian HR Reporter – Canada’s market‑leading HR media brand – helping advertisers reach an engaged audience of HR professionals via HRReporter.com.

Role: Business Development Manager – HR Media (B2B Digital Advertising)
Brand: HRReporter.com (Canadian HR Reporter)
Location: Flexible / hybrid (2 days a week in our downtown Toronto office)
OTE: CAD $110k–$120k (uncapped)

The role

You’ll focus on winning new advertisers and growing revenue across HRReporter.com and related digital products.

You will:

  • Own the full new‑business sales cycle – prospect, pitch, negotiate, close
  • Target HR‑focused categories (HR tech, benefits, recruitment, payroll, wellness, employment law, consulting, etc.)
  • Sell digital advertising, branded content, email, sponsorships and lead‑gen solutions
  • Build strong relationships with decision‑makers and agencies and grow accounts through results, renewals and upsells
  • Work closely with editorial, marketing and design to deliver campaigns that genuinely solve HR client problems

You’ll sell with a modern, AI‑enabled stack (CRM, market intel, AI support for prospecting, email and meeting notes) so you can focus on high‑value conversations, not admin.

About you

  • 3+ years’ B2B media or advertising sales (digital preferred)
  • Strong new‑business track record – you generate and close your own opportunities
  • Consultative, solutions‑led sales style with solid negotiation skills
  • Comfortable with KPIs, outbound activity and a fast‑paced commercial environment
  • Curious, coachable and keen to use AI and modern tools to lift performance

This won’t suit someone who prefers mainly reactive/inbound sales or low visibility on activity and performance.

What’s on offer

  • OTE CAD $110k–$120k, uncapped, with competitive base, commission and accelerators for top performers
  • The chance to build and own a high‑value HR media book of business on a flagship brand
  • Clear pathways to larger strategic accounts, leadership or broader vertical responsibility
  • Flexible hybrid working
  • Travel Orange – the ability to work from other global locations for up to 12 weeks per year
  • Quarterly awards and recognition programs (including vouchers, travel incentives and company‑wide recognition)
  • Additional benefits such as paid volunteer leave and extra annual leave accrual with tenure
