Job Description

Job Summary

A Business Analyst with our Product Development team in Toronto is responsible for communicating with stakeholders to elicit, analyze, and validate requirements for changes to business processes, policies and/or business systems. This is a hybrid role, with 1-2 days per week expected in-person at 200 Bay Street in Toronto.Job Responsibilities

  • Gathering business and system requirements
  • Recording detailed results of analysis sessions
  • Defining the scope of a change or product
  • Proposing good solutions that exhibit a strong understanding of the business need, user experience, and technical constraints.
  • Documenting solutions in a clear manner and demonstrates a thorough consideration of all flows and scenarios.
  • Producing a variety of specification documents such as mockups, user stories and process flows
  • Producing technical writing documents or other specs as needed
  • Facilitating large group analysis sessions and conducting interviews with all levels of business
  • Presenting products or enhancements and changes to business owners
  • Understanding and advising on risk of possible implementations
  • Contributing to test planning and scripts
  • Executing functional and regression testing of changes
  • Other duties as required or assigned.

Qualifications:

  • University degree or college diploma with a strong IT affinity and/or minimum.
  • Minimum 3 years’ work experience as a Business Analyst
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently with minimum supervision.
  • Excellent organizational skills and accuracy
  • Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Experience working on more than one project at a time
  • Ability to work closely with the developers and establish good relationships with team
  • Comfortable presenting to and communicating with all levels of business  
  • Strong interviewing, surveying and technical writing skills
  • Solid understanding of the software development lifecycle and its basic concepts
  • Firm grasp of user interface design best practices and conventions
  • Understanding data modelling concepts and ability to express details of business requirements in those terms, when needed
  • Understanding of the Agile methodology
  • Understanding of Microsoft Azure DevOps or TFS a plus

Salary Range - $75,000 to $85,000 annually
