The Actuarial System Data and Reporting team is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Business Analyst to join our group. This person will partner closely with the US Reporting Steward and act as a key liaison between the US Actuarial teams and the Global Systems & Data organization to ensure our reporting needs are met.

This role is responsible for managing and tracking change‑management tickets and implementations, supporting prioritization discussions, and partnering with developers to assess business requirements for ongoing system enhancements. It also involves working with data tools such as SQL, QlikView, and Power BI to query the data warehouse, perform meaningful analyses, and develop solutions that strengthen Valuation processes during Quarter‑End and Year‑End cycles. The ideal candidate brings strong project‑coordination and communication skills, a solid understanding of enterprise data structures and data‑warehouse concepts, proficiency with SQL and business intelligence tools, and a passion for improving processes, automating workflows, and generating insights that drive operational excellence.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a coordination point between Actuarial Associates, business partners, and technical teams, ensuring actuarial data requirements are clearly understood, documented, and translated into actionable technical specifications.

  • Support the change‑management process, including collecting enhancement requests, validating business needs with actuarial collaborators, organizing requirements, and ensuring proper documentation.

  • Manage and track JIRA tickets end‑to‑end, from intake, requirements clarification, and developer assessment through to prioritization, testing, and final implementation, while maintaining clear communication with actuarial teams.

  • Collaborate closely with development teams (ETL, data engineering, reporting, QA) to clarify requirements, and accurate delivery of data solutions.

  • Support SIT (System Integration Testing), UAT (User Acceptance Testing), and regression testing by preparing test cases, coordinating with actuarial reviewers, validating results, and tracking defects through closure.

  • Develop, optimize, and maintain SQL queries or python programs to extract, validate, and transform actuarial data from the data warehouse for analysis, testing, and issue investigation.

  • Design and maintain analysis dashboards in Power BI or any realted tools to enhance access to actuarial metrics, and provide better analytical insights.

  • Continuously improve actuarial data processes and best practices, promoting consistency, reducing manual effort, and strengthening data accuracy, integrity, and governance.

Required Qualifications:

  • University degree in Finance, Business, Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related field

  • 2–4 years of experience in project coordination or project management, including hands‑on experience managing Jira or similar change‑management tools

  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with multiple cross‑functional teams, including actuarial, systems, and data engineering groups

  • Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to support Actuarial Associates and other business partners

  • 2–3 years of practical experience with SQL, including writing complex queries and working with large datasets

  • Experience with data visualization tools such as QlikView or Power BI to develop and maintain reporting dashboards

  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with the ability to derive insights and support decision‑making

  • Ability to work independently while contributing effectively in a team environment

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Python or R for data analysis is preferred but not required

  • Knowledge of data warehousing concepts, ETL workflows, and data modeling best practices is an asset

When you join our team:

  • We’ll empower you to learn and grow the career you want

  • We’ll recognize and support you in a flexible environment where well-being and inclusion are more than just words

  • As part of our global team, we’ll support you in shaping the future you want to see
