About the Role

BSA / Technical Writer – Insurance Technology

Location: Toronto (4 days per week in office) | Practice Area: Insurance | Type: Contract 

Bridge the Gap Between Technology and Clarity in the Insurance Sector

The Role
We're looking for a BSA / Technical Writer to join our Insurance practice and support technology teams by crafting clear, accurate, and user-focused documentation for systems, applications, and operational processes. Acting as a liaison between technical experts and business stakeholders, you'll help demystify complex insurance and IT concepts through compelling, structured content that supports understanding and compliance.

What You’ll Do

  • Develop and maintain clear documentation for insurance technology platforms—including user guides, process flows, API specs, and technical documentation

  • Collaborate with analysts, developers, architects, and operations teams to gather information and validate documentation accuracy

  • Translate complex insurance and IT concepts into accessible content for both technical and business audiences

  • Create standard operating procedures, knowledge base articles, and training materials to support business continuity and onboarding

  • Ensure all documentation adheres to internal standards and external compliance and data privacy requirements

What We’re Looking For

  • Proven experience writing technical documentation in insurance, financial services, or tech environments

  • Bachelor’s degree in Technical Communication, IT, English, or related field

  • Strong written communication skills with exceptional clarity, consistency, and attention to detail

  • Proficiency in documentation tools and collaboration platforms (e.g., Confluence, SharePoint)

  • Understanding of software development lifecycles, IT systems, and insurance operations
