Company Description

The Brand Manager, Advertising plays an integral role on the Red Bull Canada Marketing team leading and overseeing the national advertising strategy. This position is the advertising expert internally, with the ultimate goal of helping grow the Red Bull user base while generating maximum reach and engagement with our target audience. The ability to effectively collaborate across Red Bull Canada’s respective specialist marketing functions (Sports, Culture, Media Network, Field Marketing, Sales), International Brand Marketing and the Media AOR will be a strong contributor to success in this role. The ideal candidate will have a passion for advertising and emerging media trends and how these can translate to an effective advertising strategy. They will be able to balance big picture thinking, with the required detail for successful media planning.

Job Description

ADVERTISING STRATEGY AND AGENCY/PARTNERSHIP MANAGEMENT

Lead the overarching strategy for advertising in Canada in order to build impactful local annual plans.

Effectively translate global guidelines into local action.

Lead advertising inputs for annual Media Mix Modelling in Canada, applying findings to inform efficacy of plan, including budget and channel split.

Build deep understanding of the Canadian media landscape incl. traditional, digital, emerging media platforms & formats, regional nuances, and a keen understanding of competitive activity in the category.

Overseeing annual media landscape review with external agency.

Serve as key point person for media agency (with support of Brand Marketing Director) to define Red Bull Canada’s national advertising strategy including: Annual media agency review, Ensuring timely, accurate media planning inputs and post-buy reports across all campaigns.

Nurture effective working relationships media AOR and with key external partners, to elevate media campaigns.

Day-to-day point of contact for ad hoc advertising related inquiries whether from internal stakeholders or agency partners.

Work closely with local and global creative agencies to ensure advertising assets are developed appropriately to fulfil any plan requirements.

BUSINESS ASSESSMENT AND MANAGEMENT

Responsible for managing and maintaining Red Bull Canada’s national advertising budget incl. but not limited to; Month End Close and bi-annual budget cycle management, Invoice and Budget Control Report management with agency, Ongoing management of media cost analysis with AOR (e.g. monitoring market inflation, evaluating CPPs, etc.).

Lead management and monitoring of all Red Bull advertising tools (3rd party and proprietary); Red Bull Media Plan Template and Cost Commitment Tracking, Red Bull Paid Performance Dashboard, Google Analytics 360.

TEAM STRATEGY AND PLANNING

Serve as knowledge base for global media strategy; collaborate and align regularly with International Brand Marketing on national advertising strategy & tactics.

Collaborate cross-functionally with key stakeholders amongst Red Bull Canada, incl. but not limited to; Oversee all advertising briefs, recommendations, and performance of all Brand Marketing initiatives with paid media amplification in collaboration with other Brand Manager(s) and Media AOR, Align with Red Bull Media Network on programming amplification priorities for managed platforms.

Lead contributor to Red Bull Canada’s annual business plan for Advertising.

Qualifications

Media planning expert with 5+ years of experience in a related marketing role or media agency.

Experience working within a global media agency network and client organization.

Expert in integrated media channel planning and buying; knowledge and experience with both digital and traditional broadcast buying.

University degree or post-graduate diploma in Marketing or Advertising.

Strategic thinker and the ability to anticipate trends and turn insights into action.

Strong analytical capabilities with an emphasis on understanding integrated reach strategies.

Creative thinker and innovator.

Ability to manage cross-functionally and up.
