Are you the person we are looking for?
Our Engineering Services team is seeking a Project Coordinator with recent experience managing large projects in a Software Development group. This is a brand new role with lots of visibility and accountability, providing the chance for you to make the role your own and have a significant impact.
You will assist a team of Technical Project Managers in all aspects of project planning and execution with a specific emphasis on resource planning of pools of developers across multiple projects. Being skilled in project management concepts, you should have specific experience with evaluating, integrating, and using tools relating to resource management. Having a Project Management Professional (PMP) certification would be an asset, but is not essential.

You will:
- Plan and ensures optimum use of shared resources across multiple projects; administering and monitoring use against budgets and timelines
- Work with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
- Coordination of priorities and scheduling with contractors.
- Ensure detailed gathering, documenting, and tracking of requirements, schedules, budgets, etc.
- Make decisions using your knowledge of risk management and mitigation.
- Write or contribute to the writing of new contracts for external contractors
- Monitor progress throughout the project cycle, ensuring cost and time constraints are met and acting to ensure problem resolution, as necessary.
- Contribute to improvements with processes and procedures.
- Collaborate with technical project managers, software developers, group leaders, contractors and externally with Engineering Services customers.
- Collaborate with most internal departments including Finance, Marketing and Sales.
- Use your communication skills and detailed orientated nature to help see projects through to completion by bringing people together.
You will have:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Business; OR Technical Certification in related fields
- Proven experience in project coordination/management with a particular focus on resource planning/management (including shared resource pools).
- Experience evaluating, integrating, and using tools related to resource management
- Experience with software implementation project management, planning and deployments in an AGILE environment.
- Experience with managing multiple concurrent projects with different time frames.
- In depth knowledge of relevant non-cloud-based tools (ie: Microsoft Project) is required, knowledge of cloud-based tools (ie: Monday.com) is an asset
- Skills in project planning and management, decision making, problem solving, analysis and communication
If you have any of the below then that's considered an asset:
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
- Experience managing projects in the Embedded and RTOS Market.
- Any direct experience with QNX.
- Experience with any of the following quality-related standards:
- ISO 9001
- SEI-CMMI
- IEC 61508
- IEC 62304
- SPICE ISO/IEC 15504
- Common Criteria ISO 15408
- ISO 26262
- ISO 21434
