Job Description

AECOM is seeking a BIM Manager to support our Canada Region the Water Business Line and be based out of the GTA in this new position. AECOM is one of the world’s leading firms with opportunities to work with a wide variety of clients on planning, engineering, design, and digital projects.  AECOM is proud to provide our employees with the most exciting and challenging projects around the world. 

As a member of the GTA Water Team, you will work with professionals in the Water Business line across Ontario and with other business lines in the geography and around the world to advance AECOM’s global digital strategies and projects.

The appropriately qualified applicant will be able to demonstrate a positive can-do attitude, is customer focused, a critical thinker and problem solver and ready to apply their knowledge and skill sets to establish a rewarding, long-term career utilizing principles and methods for AEC Design and Digital Consulting projects.

As a BIM Manager for the GTA Water Business Line you will be a champion for:

  • Assessing the current BIM state and maturity of design on projects
  • Work with the existing GTA Team to understand ways of working, areas for improvement, and gaps in staffing
  • Assess the maturity of our workshare with enterprise capability  
  • Team development and mentoring
  • Provide access to training and technical support to design staff on the Building Information Modeling system, which provides 3D models using project specifications and content.
  • Direct project support and production to assigned projects and create the drawings as required using the standards and content to meet the job requirements.
  • Work with linear and vertical design teams to implement BIM standards and specifications as developed at a regional level

Qualifications

Minimum requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree + 8 years of experience or engineering technologist diploma + 6 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education, including BIM leadership in the water and wastewater AEC space.

Preferred requirements

  • Experience with Automated design using Dynamo, Orkestra and Grasshopper
  • Critical thinking to identify issues, present solutions and follow through to ensure completion.
  • Experience in executing design water or wastewater plant design
  • Executing multi discipline design projects within BIM360 or Autodesk Construction Cloud.
  • Extensive experience with Revit & Civil3D
  • Working knowledge Plant3D
  • Working knowledge of MicroStation & Open Roads
  • Experience in executing design water or wastewater plant design
