Your Moneris Career - The Opportunity

As the bilingual Credit Analyst - SMB Re-Adjudication, you will perform various forms of credit-based analysis on existing and prospective merchants, reviewing merchants that trigger in the Fraud queue for out-of-pattern processing, decision the release of funds held, and customer service to merchants on all re-adjudication-related issues.

Location: You will be based in our Toronto office, balancing in-office collaboration with remote flexibility.

Reporting Relationship: You will report to the Manager, SMB Credit Re-Adjudication.

Posting Type: Replacement Position.

Salary Range: The expected base salary range for this role is $56,800 - $79,520.

Total compensation may also include variable or discretionary incentive components, including but not limited to bonuses and commissions. Individual job offers are determined by various factors, including experience, education, skills, certifications, and other business needs.

Your Moneris Career - What you'll do

  • Apply appropriate underwriting criteria to all merchant applications following established credit policy to ensure financial risk is mitigated.

  • Post-review of merchants who are in need of a line increase or are flagged by fraud process (re-adjudication) specifically in processing volume level or average transaction size.

  • Responding to Re-Adjudication inquiries from merchants, Fraud containment staff and other Moneris departments; ensuring that merchants are kept apprised of the Re-Adjudication process and given status updates.

  • Perform a credit risk assessment of an existing high-risk merchant which includes developing a good understanding of the business profile to ensure compliance with credit, fraud, card association regulation and legal matters.

  • Analyzing personal, business and financial information, ensuring all risks are mitigated.

  • Work with internal staff and external sources for the purpose of Credit training, fraud detection, and monitoring activities.

  • Help with customer calls for complex merchant set-ups requiring explanation of specific credit policies and decisions related to those policies.

  • Work with Moneris Fraud Group to monitor the activity of selected High-Risk Merchants.

  • Provide back up and support to the other Analysts, with respect to the SMB Credit process, special projects, vacation relief, and peak time volume.

Your Moneris Career - What you bring

  • 3+ years of experience in a related field

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in Business, Accounting, or Finance.

  • Must be fluent in French and English.

  • Equivalent work experience may be considered a substitution.

  • Experience reviewing personal credit bureaus, commercial credit bureaus and financial statement analysis.

  • Previous experience in the payment industry considered an asset.

  • Technical Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Windows/ MS Office Applications.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Strong analytical skills with a demonstrated attention to detail, must have excellent organizational and time management skills.

  • Capability to “think outside of the box”.

  • Strong business acumen.
