The Business Continuity Management, Business Partner will be responsible for supporting the management of Interac Business Continuity Program with a specific mandate to develop and implement a comprehensive testing strategy.

You’ll be responsible for:  

  • Applying their specialized expertise in BCM to support the BCM Program at Interac and taking into consideration Interac specialized needs for the operation of the Real Time Rail, ISO270001 Certification, Bank of Canada PPS designation and other contractual obligations.

  • Planning, facilitating and completing in collaboration with SMEs and Leaders in other business units, Business Impact Assessments and Business Continuity Plans to document technical business processes, critical people (resources), systems and controls to ensure the organization can seamlessly provide continuous operational services in the event of a business disruption.

  • Reviewing the details of information prepared by business units, assessing and challenging contingency plans and advising Leadership on the design and operation of effective controls to ensure operational continuation.

  • Formulating recommendations to Leaders on the design and execution of BCM plans which may impact resource allocation within business units.

  • Acting as a BCM expert and business partner to all business units through the provision of the annual BCM program updates.

  • Testing Strategy: This role will support the core BCM program activities but with a more specific focus on designing, documenting and implementing a comprehensive testing strategy for Interac to ensure BCPs, DRPs and Mass Call tree tests are conducted annually to meet contractual and regulatory requirements.

  • Excellent tabletop facilitation skills and experience are necessary to lead and facilitate the several annual tabletop exercises and liaising with internal SMES as well as with the Executive Committee for successful delivery of testing exercises.

  • Engaging with the BCM and Disaster Recovery Committee to align BCM and DR activities across Interac.

  • Completing After Incident and After Test reports and ensure completion of findings, gaps and action items within specified time frames.

You bring:  

  • Knowledge of ISO certifications applicable to BCM and Information Security

  • Designation in BCM such as Business Continuity Institute or the Disaster Recovery Institute

  • Eligibility to work for Interac Corp. in Canada in a full-time capacity. 

  • Payment/fintech knowledge (Interac products, platforms, corporate strategy)​.

  • Proven experience designing, developing, facilitating BCM tests (tabletops, component testing, call tree testing)

  • Excellent time management to ensure all deliverables are completed on specific deadlines to meet Audit, Compliance, Legal requirements

  • Knowledge of Disaster Recovery to support DR exercises

  • Strong ability to analyze and interpret data to make informed decisions.​

  • Previous use of BCM tools such as ServiceNow, Fusion Risk, etc. is an asset.

  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate with various stakeholders (internal and external).

  • The ability to think critically and analyze complex situations, identify risks, and propose solutions.
