We are  looking for an Intermediate Software Developer to work on Lightspeed’s Marketing global web properties, APIs, microservices and devops. Reporting to the Web Development Manager, you will be a part of a small but effective and agile team consisting of Front-end, Back-end Developers.

For this role, you should be located in Canada, and able to work within EST/EDT hours. We offer a choice of fully remote, partially remote or fully office-based work environments (in cities with local offices).

What you’ll be responsible for:

  • Work as part of a team to deliver product features and functionality
  • Help code & design our key services (websites, APIs and microservices)
  • Develop clean, maintainable and scalable code
  • Clearly estimate and scope features
  • Take part in peer code reviews & brainstorming sessions

What you’ll be bringing to the team:

  • 3+ years experience of back-end development
  • Extensive experience with PHP 
  • Entry-level to intermediate Docker knowledge
  • Good understanding of Design Patterns such as MVC
  • Basic proficiency in a UNIX/Linux environment
  • Experience with Git/Github 
  • Good communication skills 

Even better if you have hands-on experience with (but not necessary):

Experience with:

  • Wordpress/ACF/Gutenberg
  • DevOps 
  • Go
  • GCP (Google Cloud Platform) 
  • Docker, Bash, Composer, Xdebug
  • Web caching systems (ex: Redis)
  • Cloudflare and DNS record management 
  • CI/CD (ex: CircleCi)
  • Agile development environment
  • Building & interacting with APIs
  • Relational (SQL) and non-relational (NoSQL) databases
