JOB SUMMARY:

The Treasury Associate plays a key role in managing the financial heartbeat of Essex. This position supports the Company’s cash management operations, payment processing, and banking relationships that keep our business running smoothly. As a valued member of the Treasury team, you’ll collaborate with colleagues across various departments to ensure accuracy, compliance, and efficiency in every transaction. WHAT YOU WILL DO:

  • Oversee ACH returns, credit card chargebacks, and refunds to ensure timely resolution and accuracy.

  • Collaborate with Accounting, Finance, Operations, and Legal to support and coordinate transactions and financial processes.

  • Serve as a liaison between Essex and its banking partners—facilitating new account setups, managing banking services, resolving inquiries, and handling other related matters.

  • Process company payments including checks, EFTs, virtual card, and wire transfers with precision and compliance.

  • Co-manage the Company’s Purchase Card Program, supporting monthly reconciliations and user activities.

  • Assist with cash management by monitoring daily cash positions and supporting cash forecasting.

  • Ensure adherence to SOX controls and support both internal and external audit requests.

  • Contribute to process enhancements, documentation updates, and treasury system improvements to advance team goals.

  • Participate in special projects and ad hoc analyses to support business priorities.

WHAT YOU WILL NEED:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, or related field.

  • 3-5+ years of experience in treasury, accounting or banking.

  • Certified Treasury Professional (CTP) designation preferred.

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel

  • Familiarity with Yardi Voyager software is a plus.

WHAT THE JOB REQUIRES:

  • Operates in a fast-paced work setting. Requires the ability to multitask and adapt quickly to changing priorities. May involve tight deadlines and high-energy work situations.

  • Work is primarily conducted in an office setting. Requires sitting at a desk or workstation for extended periods. Involves the use of standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and printers.

  • The position includes in-person work requirements consistent with the hybrid policy located at Essex's corporate offices in Woodland Hills, Irvine, Bellevue or San Mateo. The hybrid policy is subject to change at Essex’s sole discretion.

  • Requires the ability to sit or stand for extended periods. Minimal physical effort in the day-to-day tasks.

  • Minimal travel may be required for occasional meetings, training, or conferences.

The pay range for this position is $94,000.00 - $140,000.00 per year. New hires generally start between $94,000.00 - $117,000.00 per year. The final salary offer will be determined after reviewing relevant factors, including but not limited to skill sets; relevant experience; internal equity; and other business and organizational needs.

This role is also eligible to participate in Essex’s discretionary Annual Bonus program that is commensurate with the level of the position.
