Our Canadian operations are currently looking for a motivated team player to join us as an Associate on our Securities Finance team in Toronto. This role supports the day to day activities of the Securities Finance desk, combining trading support with strong analytical and technical capabilities.
Responsibilities:
- Support securities finance traders with execution, monitoring, and lifecycle management of loan transactions.
- Monitor positions, utilization, rates, recalls, corporate actions, and settlement issues.
- Assist with pricing analysis, market color, and supply/demand dynamics.
- Act as the desk’s primary technical resource, helping convert trading and operational requirements into streamlined tools and workflows.
- Simplify complex or manual processes through automation and improved reporting.
- Build, maintain, and enhance tools using Excel (Power Query), Python, SQL, and Bloomberg.
- Partner closely with traders to design solutions that are intuitive, easy to use, and aligned with real trading needs.
- Coordinate with operations, collateral, risk, legal, and technology teams to implement improvements.
Skills & Qualifications:
- 1 – 3 years experience in capital markets, trading support, operations, analytics, or a related role.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including working with large datasets.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work closely with traders.
- Experience with Excel Power Query, Power Pivot, or VBA.
- Experience with Python, SQL, or similar automation and data tools.
- Familiarity with Bloomberg and market data.
- Exposure to securities finance, prime brokerage, repo, or related capital markets products.
- Demonstrated ability to improve workflows, automate reporting, or build desk-level tools.
