Role

Associate Product Manager (APM)

At Switch, the role of an Associate Product Manager is largely focused around customer success, software implementation, and analytics to track customer marketing results. As an APM at a high growth startup, you will be responsible for working in the weeds with clients and engineers, while also influencing the product roadmap by being the voice of the customer internally.  Switch is hiring several Associate Product Managers (APMs) to help scale our client base by 20x over the next 3-years, while driving retention and renewals. This role acts as the foundation to grow into product management or business leadership roles at Switch. APMs cover a wide variety of functions and disciplines in an apprenticeship structure, learning new skills from tenured business, data science and software engineering teammates. APMs focus in the weeds on client support, implementing the software, monitoring the back-end process for data fidelity, owning the AI training cycle and experimenting with advanced analytics. APMs also gain hands-on experience collaborating daily with engineers to develop platform features and contribute ideas to drive new product development.
Switch is a product-focussed organization - the APM will be the voice of our customers internally and will own critical aspects of the product and feature roadmap.

Responsibilities

The APM will support customers, all functional areas internally and integration partnerships with major tech companies (think: Google, Meta, TikTok, Amazon, LinkedIn). The APM will reshape the product roadmap with a focus on customer success, AI training, and automation features. We are a fully remote, extremely collaborative team that defaults to open and extensive communication.

  • Implement the Switch platform for strategic clients and own the customer  feedback loop with engineering
  • Support and execute closing deals, onboarding and retaining Switch customers while surfacing ideas to streamline process and track quality assurance
  • Present insights and pitch feature capabilities to executive clients on a regular basis
  • Manage customer support requests alongside engineers, spanning front-end and back-end features
  • Leverage advanced analytics to improve software performance and customer marketing results 
  • Contribute to the machine-learning product roadmap with automation concepts that unify data inputs with AI systems
  • Participate in relationship management with customers and partners, including leading technical and product/pricing/business discussions
  • Support development and execution of international growth strategies
  • Participate in development of materials including playbooks, handbooks, product documentation, whitepapers, case studies, marketing material, presentations
  • Collaborate with cross-functional groups (engineering, machine-learning and data science)
  • Perform deep customer discovery and disseminate feedback with the engineering team to inform feature and product direction and roadmap
  • Support pipeline and forecasting efforts that inform strategy and planning
  • Synthesize complex information and make actionable recommendations to the leadership team

Requirements

  • 1-3 years of experience in management consulting
  • Some experience in analytics, data science or computer science 
  • Interest in applying technical skills to drive commercial business relationships and customer success
  • Interest in expanding technical skills
  • Comfortable joining technical sales meetings with client engineering teams
  • Initiative to push for the best possible results and develop scalable solutions

Location

  • Switch is located in Toronto, Canada, but operates fully remotely.
