The Team

The Product department is tasked with the challenge of our company’s growth, by owning and shaping our diverse product portfolio to meet customer needs and drive innovation. We set bold, forward-thinking strategies, taking calculated risks to propel the company toward ambitious goals.

Each team member is a highly effective contributor, entrusted with significant autonomy and full end-to-end ownership of their domain—from discovery to delivery and beyond. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and Execute Product Strategy: Partner with leadership to create a strategic roadmap for the Nylas Connectivity Suite, which includes Email, Calendar, and Contacts.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with cross-departmental teams to ensure timely, high-quality product launches.
  • Product Communication: Maintain comprehensive product documentation and coordinate with product marketing to effectively communicate new products and features internally and externally.
  • Customer Engagement and Feedback: Gather and analyze product feedback, engage with customers, and conduct closed beta programs with key partners to inform product direction and prioritize initiatives.
  • Research and Decision-Making: Conduct research and validate assumptions to make informed product decisions, even when data is incomplete.

Qualifications

  • Product Management Experience: A minimum of 2 years of experience in product management, preferably with technical products involving APIs, data transformations, or developer platforms.
  • Technical Collaboration: Demonstrated ability to partner with Engineering teams to define product requirements, assess trade-offs, and evaluate potential risks.
  • Adaptability and Initiative: Proven ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, efficiently managing work with minimal supervision.
  • Problem-Solving and Curiosity: A keen sense of curiosity with a proactive approach to identifying product improvement opportunities.
  • Technical and Business Acumen: Comfortable discussing technical concepts with engineers and reading technical documentation to create comprehensive product requirements, while also articulating business value and collaborating with product marketing to define go-to-market strategies.
  • Detail-Oriented Perspective: Skilled at diving deep into execution details while maintaining an overarching focus on strategic priorities.
  • Communication and Remote Team Experience: Exceptional communication skills, with a track record of collaborating successfully with distributed teams.

Interview Plan

  • Round 1: 45 minute Google Meet interview with the hiring manager. 
  • Round 2: 60 minute technical assessment via Google Meet or take home assignment with a team member.
  • Round 3: Three (3) 45 minute Google Meet interviews with various team members (max 3 hours).

During the various discussions, candidates selected to meet with us are strongly encouraged to not only discuss their knowledge, skills, experience, and abilities but also to showcase examples of their current or previous work. We expect you to clearly outline the "what," "why," and "how" behind your contributions.

The estimated base salary range for this position is $100,000 CAD to $135,000 CAD. Actual compensation will be determined based on individual qualifications, which are objectively assessed during the interview process. Factors influencing salary include knowledge, skills, experience, and abilities.
