Job Overview
Applied Systems, Inc., a worldwide insurance technology leader, is searching for a highly motivated and technically proficient Associate Product Manager (APM) to join our dynamic team. As an APM, you will help provide technical direction in driving the strategy, development, and enhancement, of various Applied products such as Commercial lines quoting, Prospecting Tools, Epic Forms, and more. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including engineering, product, design, and marketing to ensure our Commercial lines solutions meet the needs of both internal and external stakeholders.

What You'll Do

  • Commercial Lines Strategy Development: Develop and execute a comprehensive Commercial Insurance strategy aligned with the company's overall product roadmap and business objectives
  • Prospecting tool design and requirements documentation: Collaborate with engineering and UX teams to create intuitive Commercial Lines solutions for our agencies
  • Requirements Gathering: Work closely with internal and external stakeholders to understand their Commercial insurance product needs and gather requirements for new features and enhancements
  • Cross-functional collaboration: Work closely with engineering, product, design, and marketing teams to prioritize Commercial Lines related initiatives and ensure alignment with broader company goals
  • Maintain, refine, and prioritize backlog. Define requirements, User stories, and acceptance criteria, and follow agile principles to develop and deliver


What You'll Need to Succeed
We're looking for someone who:

  • Can work remotely or from an Applied Systems office


Your experience should include some or all of the following:

  • Proven experience (1 to 3 years) in Product management or related roles
  • Technical aptitude and the ability to engage with software engineers and technical stakeholders
  • Understanding of RESTful APIs, API design principles, and Web Services technologies.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities effectively
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in the areas of Information Science, Computer Science, Engineering, or related disciplines

Additionally, you may have:

  • Understanding of Commercial Lines Insurance workflows and Insurance agency workflows
  • Experience with Jira/Confluence or similar project management tools
  • Data Analytical and Quantitative skills
  • Insurance industry experience
