Job Description:

Reporting to the Director, Life Insurance, the Associate Product Manager will support the management and growth of individual life insurance products. The successful candidate will collaborate with distribution, marketing, new business, and insurance services partners to assist in product-related activities within the individual life insurance portfolio. The ideal candidate has a keen interest in product management and a desire to develop expertise in life insurance products and market trends.

What will you do?

  • Conduct market research and competitive analysis to track industry trends and provide insights to support product strategy

  • Assist in monitoring and analyzing product performance across underwriting, sales, client engagement, profitability, and claims

  • Support the execution of product initiatives and enhancements by managing tasks related to product development and implementation

  • Provide research and data analysis to aid decision-making on product positioning and improvements

  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure product content aligns with broader company initiatives

  • Monitor the team inbox and respond to product-related inquiries and exception requests from advisors, clients, and internal stakeholders

  • Support the rollout of new product initiatives, including preparing communications and training materials

  • Manage the team SharePoint site, ensuring all relevant materials are organized and stored

What do you need to succeed?

  • Strong analytical and research skills with the ability to collect, manipulate, and interpret data

  • Knowledge in life insurance products and how they are sold

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and an innovative mindset

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining attention to detail and accuracy

  • Effective collaboration and interpersonal skills to work across teams

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables

Preferred skills:

  • Experience in product management, product marketing, or financial services

  • Familiarity with individual life insurance solutions offered by Sun Life and their administration

  • Experience working with insurance advisors or within the insurance industry

  • Knowledge of tools such as OneNote, SharePoint, and Tableau

The Base Pay range is for the primary location for which the job is posted. It may vary depending on the work location of the successful candidate or other factors. In addition to Base Pay, eligible Sun Life employees participate in various incentive plans, payment under which is discretionary and subject to individual and company performance. Certain sales focused roles have sales incentive plans based on individual or group sales results.
