The Role:
We are looking for an IT Lifecycle Management Manager to join our IT Operations organization and build a world‑class asset and lifecycle management function at SoFi. This leader will own the end‑to‑end lifecycle of our end‑user and infrastructure assets—from planning and procurement through deployment, support, and secure decommissioning—ensuring our employees have the right technology, at the right time, with the right controls.
The ideal candidate is forward‑thinking, data‑driven, and hands‑on, with a strong sense of ownership. In this role, you will define the strategy, processes, and tooling for IT asset lifecycle management and lead a team responsible for delivering consistently excellent internal customer experiences while maintaining strong governance and cost controls. You will report directly to the Senior Director of IT Operations and have opportunities to make a significant and immediate impact on the reliability, security, and efficiency of SoFi’s internal technology environment.
What you'll do:
Lead and develop a high-performing team responsible for IT asset and lifecycle management at scale.
Own the end-to-end lifecycle for IT assets, from demand planning and procurement through deployment, refresh, and secure end-of-life disposition.
Define lifecycle strategy, standards, and roadmaps aligned with IT operations, security, and business needs.
Ensure asset data is accurate, complete, and timely across ITAM/CMDB and integrated systems (e.g., HRIS, IdP, MDM, ticketing).
Establish and track operational metrics (e.g., asset accuracy, time-to-provision, lifecycle cost, reuse, EOL compliance) and drive data-driven improvements.
Design, scale, and govern core lifecycle processes, including onboarding, offboarding, refresh, break/fix, and loaner programs.
Implement and maintain strong lifecycle controls in alignment with SOX, SOC2, ISO 27001, including chain-of-custody and proof of destruction where required.
Partner closely with Cybersecurity, Compliance, and Legal to ensure asset lifecycle practices meet data protection and regulatory obligations.
Drive automation and tooling improvements to improve reliability, visibility, and operational efficiency across the asset lifecycle.
Collaborate cross-functionally with Helpdesk, Endpoint Engineering, HR, Facilities, Procurement, and Finance.
Serve as an owner for audit readiness, asset-related controls, and internal/external reviews.
What you'll need:
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or a related field; equivalent practical experience considered.
5+ years of experience in IT Operations, IT Asset Management, or End‑User Computing, including 2+ years in a people management or technical leadership role.
Demonstrated experience owning or heavily contributing to IT asset lifecycle management programs in a fast‑paced, high‑growth environment.
Strong understanding of:
ITIL / ITSM practices, especially around Request Fulfillment, Configuration Management, and Change Management.
IT Asset Management (ITAM) concepts (hardware and, ideally, software/SaaS).
Endpoint management, MDM, and identity concepts used in modern enterprise environments.
Proven ability to design, document, and improve processes, with a focus on automation and scalability.
Experience working with or alongside tools such as:
ITSM platforms (e.g., ServiceNow, Jira Service Management, Zendesk)
ITAM/CMDB tools
MDM/endpoint management platforms (e.g., Jamf, Intune, Kandji, Workspace ONE)
Inventory management and reporting systems
Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire, motivate, and develop high‑performing teams.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across IT, security, HR, finance, and business stakeholders.
Comfort working with data and metrics to drive decisions and demonstrate value (e.g., building dashboards, defining KPIs, interpreting trends).
A hands‑on, ownership mindset, willing to dive into details, solve problems, and iterate quickly while operating at a strategic level.
Nice to have:
Experience in a regulated or financial services environment.
Familiarity with compliance and audit frameworks (e.g., SOX, SOC2, ISO 27001) as they relate to IT operations and asset management.
Certifications such as ITIL, ITAM (e.g., IAITAM), or relevant vendor certifications.
Exposure to scripting/automation (e.g., Python, PowerShell) or workflow automation within ITSM platforms.
