What you'll be doing
As an Associate on the Global Credit Financing (GCF) team, you'll play a pivotal role in delivering financing solutions secured by credit assets, including private credit and broadly syndicated loans. You'll manage collateral data within the Loan Financing Platform (LFP), including borrowing bases, to support effective risk management across GCF’s credit asset exposures. Your technical expertise will enable you to respond to queries and generate accurate, timely reports, while also contributing to the build-out of the desk’s technology platform and tools. You’ll be a valued member of a close-knit deal team providing financing facilities to marquee private lenders, large asset managers, and sophisticated pension clients. In this role, you’ll collaborate with Clients, Sales/Distribution, Risk Management, Treasury, and other stakeholders during the screening process for new financing opportunities and respond to information requests. As part of a global, dynamic, and production-focused team based in Toronto, New York, and London, you’ll help drive innovation and excellence in credit asset financing.
Please note, we are open to hiring at either Associate or Director level based on skills and experience.
At CIBC we enable the work environment most optimal for you to thrive in your role. To successfully perform the work, you’ll be on-site full-time.
How you'll succeed
- Business and Technology Expertise – Develop deep knowledge of the credit asset financing business and leverage technology to monitor and manage associated risks efficiently.
- Reporting, Analysis, and Data Management – Ensure all relevant data is accurately imported and maintained in LFP; run routine and ad hoc reports for stakeholders, conduct correlation and overlap analysis on collateral pools, and perform stress testing on the collateral portfolio.
- Technology Development and Innovation – Play an active role in building out technology platforms for GCF and credit asset financing, collaborating with internal developers and third-party partners, and staying up-to-date with emerging technologies, including AI, to enhance risk identification and data management.
- Industry Awareness and Regulatory Compliance – Stay current on industry and economic developments to assess potential impacts on collateral assets, and demonstrate a strong understanding of regulatory issues, CIBC policies, guidelines, and procedures.
- Risk and Governance – Work within CIBC’s corporate governance practices to ensure all potential risks are appropriately addressed, and legal, reputational, and shareholder objectives are met.
