Headquartered in San Jose, California, Align Technology is the leader in modern Clear Aligner orthodontics that designs, manufactures and markets the Invisalign® system, which provides dental professionals with a range of treatment options for adults and teenagers. Align also offers the iTero 3D digital scanning system and services for orthodontic and restorative dentistry. Align was founded in March 1997 and received FDA clearance to market the Invisalign system in 1998.
 
Align is one of the fastest growing medical devices companies in the APAC region. The company is entering an extremely exciting but critical phase of development.  Align is investing in new capacity, capabilities, and infrastructure in the region to build foundational platforms and systems and processes to accelerate the region’s growth.
 
To achieve its growth aspirations in the region, in particular Vietnam cluster, one of its critical hire is the Associate Director, Marketing, Vietnam.
 

Key Responsibilities
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES, in the area of:
 
The Associate Director, Marketing will direct and oversee Vietnam Professional Marketing efforts. The individual will plan and coordinate critical processes related to business planning, strategic marketing plans, portfolio management and development, new product launches, business performance tracking, and multi-channel marketing.
 
The individual will meet regularly with the Vietnam commercial leadership to establish direction and priorities, goals and targeted objectives, participate in the strategic planning process and portfolio planning, and partner with the Regional Marketing team to launch new products in the assigned region and ensure alignment with global launch strategy. The incumbent is responsible for execution of country product launches including sales forecasting, customer targeting, and coordination of regional & national trainings.
 
This role will also be consulted on the Consumer Marketing efforts but will not be directly responsible for local Vietnam Consumer Marketing. The incumbent’s responsibilities will include, but not limited to:
 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Develop business plans, product positioning and budgets for the Marketing dept. in support of business objectives
  • Oversee market research, monitor competitive activity and identify customer needs
  • Direct/Manage a range of professional and consumer marketing-oriented projects (market research studies, brochures, category building initiatives etc);
  • Direct/Lead analysis of reports tracking the growth of the business (including forecasting of forthcoming business trends); post-sales duties (researching status of customer orders, providing information on possible product problems, forecasting for designated product lines.
  • Liaise, develop and lead marketing efforts in cooperation with the APAC marketing team
  • Liaise with clinical and sales to develop new products or enhance existing products/product lines;
  • Interact with professional customers through company channel marketing programs
  • Develop and implement all marketing activities, including all professional, practice and creative development, collateral materials, localization, translation and distribution, and adjustments to International markets needs and laws;
  • Provide evaluation of marketing situation and plan for capacity to meet future growth
  • Direct/lead budget oversight for all marketing initiatives
  • Establish and support a culture that encourages collaboration and inclusiveness across the various functions, and ensure all marketing communications are coordinated, support marketing plan objectives and are an effective expenditure of resources.
People Leadership
  • Ensure the development and coaching of team members to ensure a strong talent pipeline.
  • Build and strengthen professional marketing capability in the region.
  • Be an active member of the Vietnam leadership team and APAC Marketing leadership team providing insight and input as part of business reviews and related activities
Customer Excellence:
  • Develop strong relationships with key customers and opinion leaders. Develop key relationships with thought-leaders and relevant key opinion leaders in the region.
  • Keen understanding of the issues including but not limited to clinical issues, competitors, pricing, competitive strategies etc. Represents the company at customer facing events such as educational forums and customer meetings.

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
Qualifications 
  • Bachelor’s degree is required, Master’s degree is preferred
  • A minimum of 12-15 years of related work experience is required, Experience in a commercial capacity, i.e., sales, marketing, business development is an advantage
  • Direct people management experience is required
  • Experience with Marketing Excellence/Mastery, including Launch Excellence principles is required.  Experience in product development including needs assessment, portfolio management and product lifecycle management is preferred.
