We’re looking for an Associate Director, Inclusion & Diversity (I&D) to partner across the business and drive meaningful impact. Reporting to the Director, Inclusion, Diversity & Wellbeing, this role plays a pivotal part in shaping and executing strategies that advance our commitment to building an inclusive workplace where everyone can thrive.

We believe that time together in the office is important for OMERS and Oxford, the strength of our employees, and the work we do for our pension members. Our flexible work guideline requires teams to come to the office 4 days per week.

Responsibilities:

  • Consult with senior leaders and HR partners to define strategic priorities and design programs that align to business needs and objectives and address critical I&D needs.

  • Play a pivotal role in leading transformative strategic initiatives aimed at closing experience gaps for key areas of focus, leveraging cross-functional teams and collaborating with leaders on the I&D Council.

  • Navigating complex challenges arising from evolving global legal mandates, employee activism, etc.

  • Enhanced problem solving skills and ability to mobilize quickly to respond to matters of inclusion and diversity

  • Partner across the business to influence policies and processes that support an inclusive work environment​

  • Inform and consult with key internal stakeholders on the development of programs and initiatives to attract, develop, retain and engage a highly diverse and talented workforce.​

  • Design and execute on I&D campaigns that build awareness and lead to action (i.e. Self ID)

  • Develop and deliver training programs and workshops to enhance cultural competency and inclusive behaviors across the organization.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships across internal Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) and ensure sustainability, growth and evolution of grass roots-employee led initiatives​

  • Uncover and understand long-term strategic I&D challenges and provide leadership with guidance for future direction​

  • Create and contribute to business materials, including ELT or board level deliverables​

  • Leverage people analytics to identify and implement metrics, monitoring and reporting systems that will aid in benchmarking progress of our I&D strategies​

  • Maintain a strong pulse on external market, staying current with leading I&D research and topics. Accountable for sensing the market, workforce, and business environment to adapt and innovate global I&D programs

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years’ experience in Human Resources with a focus on Inclusion & Diversity, Organizational Development or a related field

  • University degree in business, HR, or related discipline​

  • Advanced planning and organizing skills, ability to prioritize across and deliver against multiple projects and programs​

  • Proven track record of successfully implementing I&D initiatives within a corporate environment

  • Strong data and analysis skills to identify trends and guide decision making; storytelling through data​

  • Relationship management, stakeholder management, and consulting  skills through identifying stakeholders, finding out their needs/issues/concerns and reacting to these by arranging meetings and events and drafting supporting materials to promote understanding and commitment​

  • Ability to apply change mindset to program management during times of change​

  • Exceptional communication skills (verbal, written), and presentation skills (including senior leader audiences)​
