What will you work on?
This is a fixed term 12-month contract opportunity. As Associate Counsel, you will provide expert counsel in the areas of commercial law, licensing and intellectual property, including the review, negotiation, and management of various types of agreements and transactions (including customer/vendor, distribution, manufacturing, supply chain and licensing agreements) as well as assisting and advising on legal issues that arise for the assigned business units on a day to day and project-specific basis.
How will you create impact?
- Draft, review, negotiate and advise on various technology, marketing, procurement and other commercial agreements.
- Support Intellectual Property matters.
- Monitor and analyze changes in laws and regulations that may impact the company; recommend and implement policies and procedures for compliance.
What are your skills and experience?
- Juris Doctorate, Called to a law society in Canada
- Experience in a law firm or in-house
- Drafting, review and negotiation of a broad range of technology and commercial agreements (with a focus on agreements in marketing, procurement and similar areas).
- Knowledge of and experience with privacy and data security laws would be considered a strong asset.
- Extensive knowledge of and experience with technology and commercial law.
