About The Role
A Consultant leads client relationships and also supports other Consultants with their client relationships. They work in a flexible, fast-paced, dynamic environment, often balancing multiple tasks and projects simultaneously. The position is expected to meet tight deadlines, deal with complex issues and assist with managing client and prospect expectations. The position can involve travel to visit client sites for meetings.
What You’ll Do
Lead and manage client relationships by researching and developing tailored solutions.
Support other clients by assisting the Lead Consultant
Prepare and present clear, well-structured reports and recommendations at client meetings.
Prepare responses to RFPs
Peer-review the work of colleagues and add client-specific insights.
Stay informed on industry regulations and governance impacting institutional clients.
Lead and execute projects to improve internal systems and technology.
Proactively identify issues and implement creative solutions.
Independently manage projects and coordinate with team members to ensure timely delivery.
Communicate and maintain strong relationships with Investment Managers, Custodians, and Recordkeepers.
Mentor and guide team members to support their growth.
Qualifications and expertise that pave the way for Success
Five or more years of experience working in investment consulting
Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master’s degree (e.g., MBA, MFin) is advantageous
Professional designations or certifications like CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst) or CIPM (Certificate in Investment Performance Measurement), which demonstrate commitment to professional development and expertise in investments
Strong knowledge of investment strategies, asset allocation, portfolio analysis, risk management, portfolio management, and financial markets
Advanced analytical abilities for reviewing, interpreting, and presenting complex data clearly to support clients in decision-making.
Skills in problem-solving and solution sourcing to manage diverse client needs and provide innovative approaches to evolving challenges. Strong interpersonal skills for client management and relationship-building with stakeholders and cross-functional teams
Demonstrated initiative and proactive approach to identifying opportunities for operational improvements and supporting organizational goals
Proficiency in investment analysis software (e.g., eVestment, Morningstar Direct) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)

The expected salary range for this position is $65,000 to $90,000 and will be impacted by factors such as the successful candidate’s skills, experience and working location, as well as the specific position’s business line, scope and level. HUB International is proud to offer comprehensive benefit and total compensation packages which could include extended health benefits, disability insurance, RRSP matching, paid-time-off benefits, and eligible bonuses, and commissions for some positions.
