As Associate Chief of Staff, you will improve CEO operations, support strategic alignment, analyze data for decision-making, manage projects, and enhance organizational processes.
The summary above was generated by AI

Relay is fundamentally reshaping how goods move in an online era. Backed by Europe’s largest-ever logistics Series A ($35M), led by deep-tech investors Plural (whose portfolio spans fusion energy and space exploration), Relay is scaling faster than 99.98% of venture-backed startups. We're assembling the most talent-dense team the logistics industry has ever seen

Relay’s Mission is to free commerce from friction. Today, high delivery costs act as a hidden tax on e-commerce, quietly shaping what can be sold online and limiting who can participate. We envision a world where more goods move more freely between more people, making the online shopping experience seamless and accessible to everyone.

THE TEAM
~110 people, more than half in engineering, product and data
45+ advanced degrees across computer science, mathematics and operations research
Thousands of data points captured, calculated, analysed and predicted for every single parcel we handle
• An intellectually vibrant culture of first‑principles thinking, tight feedback loops and relentless experimentation

THE ROLE

You'll work directly alongside Relay's Chief of Staff, sitting at the center of the CEO's agenda and the company's most strategic priorities. This is a rare early-career role that gives you genuine access to how a high-growth company is led, scaled, and funded — from the inside.

You won't just support the leadership agenda. You'll help drive it.

What You'll Own

CEO Operating Rhythm

Support and continuously improve leadership meetings, all-hands, and company communications. Keep the organization focused on what matters most.

CEO Office Build-out

Play a founding role in designing and launching Relay's CEO Office — a new internal function that centralizes how the company's top priorities are tracked, escalated, and executed. You'll help build the playbooks, rituals, and governance structures from the ground up.

Next Potential Fundraising Round Support

Be a hands-on contributor to Relay's next potential fundraising round — supporting data room preparation, investor materials, strategic narratives, and cross-functional coordination as we enter our next phase of growth.

Strategic Execution

Translate company-level strategy into clear roadmaps, milestones, and ownership. Drive accountability on OKRs and follow through on delivery.

Cross-functional Coordination

Act as the connective tissue across teams — scoping and driving high-priority projects that require alignment across engineering, product, ops, and commercial.

People & Org Design

Contribute to workforce planning, role design, and people processes — from performance reviews to goal-setting — that help Relay scale without losing what makes it great.

What We're Looking For

• 2–4 years in consulting, a founder's office, or a high-growth startup in a strategy or operations role

• You turn ambiguous problems into structured solutions — and then execute them

• Excellent written and verbal communication; you make complex things clear

• Collaborative and trusted across functions; you build relationships fast

• Energized by pace, not slowed by it

Fast and Focused Hiring Process

• Talent Acquisition Interview – 30 min

• Hiring Manager Interview – 45 min

• Case Study / Strategic Scenario – 60 min

• Values & Team Interviews – 2 x 30 min

• Decision and offer within 48 hours

Who Thrives at Relay?

  • Aim with Precision: You define problems clearly and measure your impact meticulously.

  • Play to Win: You chase bold bets, tackle the hard stuff, and view constraints as fuel, not friction.

  • 1% Better Every Day: You believe that small, consistent improvements lead to exponential growth. You move quickly, deliver results, and learn from every experience.

  • All In, All the Time: You show up and step up. You take ownership from start to finish and do what it takes to deliver when it counts.

  • People-Powered Greatness: You invest in your teammates. You give and receive feedback with care and candour. You build trust through high standards and shared success.

  • Grow the Whole Pie: You seek out win-win solutions for merchants, couriers, and our customers, because when they thrive, so do we.
If these resonate, and you combine strong technical fundamentals with entrepreneurial drive, let’s connect.

Relay is an equal-opportunity employer committed to diversity, inclusion, and fostering a workplace where everyone thrives.
