JOB OVERVIEW
We are currently seeking an Associate to join our Corporate Finance team. Reporting to the Director of Corporate Finance, the successful candidate will support the team on managing the pipeline of Canadian Wealth Management initiatives, and other internal strategy mandates. Our team takes great pride in providing actionable recommendations in a timely manner as markets and competitive dynamics evolve.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Act as the key coordinator for CI Financials' Canadian Wealth Management (“CWM”) acquisition initiatives, ensuring the alignment of all critical stakeholders from the inception of the transaction, through closing and integration
- Track progress of CWM initiatives, in addition to analysis of key KPIs to provide summaries, reports and findings to senior management
- Contribute to the preparation of deal related materials for CWM initiatives, in addition to broader corporate finance related documents, on an as-needed basis
- Participate in corporate finance initiatives, such as the preparation of recurring monthly and quarterly analyses, financial modelling and other ad-hoc requests
- Collaborate with functional groups across the organization to solve internal issues
- Assist with analysis and preparation of KPIs for management reporting
- Assist with ad-hoc projects, documentation, presentations and initiatives as assigned
WHAT YOU WILL BRING
- Undergraduate degree in business/finance/accounting
- Minimum 2-3 years relevant work experience in project management, corporate finance, the wealth management or asset management industry
- Ability to meet tight deadlines and manage conflicting priorities
- Fluent in finance and accounting concepts, with an understanding of economic factors affecting valuation
- Ability to create, update, and manage databases and financial models, in addition to developing simple and effective presentations
- Communicate findings clearly and concisely
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with exceptional attention to detail
- Superior written and verbal communication skills
- Strong work ethic, ability to learn and work independently as well as part of a team
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and experience with other Microsoft Office products. Experience with Excel Macros and VBA coding an asset
